Democrats and Israel - What is Going on?
Without proffering a preference in this year's presidential elections, it is with much concern that we link to the following important article:
The article states that the 2016 Democratic party platform drafting committee is loaded with individuals who, to put it simply, are not friends of Israel. These include three people appointed by Bernie Sanders: Cornell West (considered a "philosopher" and "social activist"), James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute,
and Rep. Keith Ellison
, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to Congress.
For the past few years there has been a significant slant within the Democratic party away from support for Israel, toward what some would call a more "even-handed" approach toward Israel and the Palestinian Arabs. This drift away from Israel has been validated poll after poll over several years, and tensions surrounding this issue were on full display during the 2012 Democratic convention, as shown in this video:
It will be interesting, to say the least, tuning into the Democratic convention later this year to witness how the "Israel question" is handled. A
lthough Bernie Sanders is Jewish, he doesn't seem to have Israel in his "kishkas"; i.e., in the scheme of things, Israel is just not that important to him. Hillary Clinton professes strong support for Israel, although the veracity and depth of her support have and continue to be questioned. She has labeled herself a "progressive," and we know which way progressives tilt when it comes to Israel.

Ami Horowitz video:
Would university students donate money to Hamas
to blow up schools and hospitals?
Are American college students so liberal, that to be anti-Israel is axiomatic? Or, are we simply witnessing their dumbing down? Or, are both phenomena in play?
Put another way, are today's college students anti-Israel and anti-Semitic, ignorant and stupid, or all the above?
No matter how one phrases it, intellectual pursuit and a keen mind for exploration seem to be on the decline among our student class. This has certainly been validated by Ami Horowitz's latest video, below.
