Volunteer Today for Denver VA Hospital Visit
The Colorado PGA REACH Foundation will host our annual Denver VA Hospital visit on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 10am to 12pm. PGA Professionals will hand out hats (provided by the Colorado PGA) and will meet and greet with veterans as a way to say thanks during National Salute to Veteran Patients week.

Growth of the Game Grant Applications Available for 2017
Colorado PGA REACH Grant Applications are designed to provide financial assistance to facilities within the geographic boundaries of the Colorado Section PGA, that employ PGA members or apprentices in good standing, to develop and/or significantly enhance Growth of the Game programs that will attract and retain new golfers.

PGA of America and Colorado PGA Scholarships Available
The PGA of America and Colorado PGA Scholarship programs provide college scholarships for children and grandchildren of PGA Members. It encourages and promotes the attainment of higher educational goals for the children and grandchildren of PGA Members, based on evidence of a high level of academic achievement during high school or college.

Run for the Board of Directors
The process to submit your name for consideration for the Colorado PGA Board of Directors is now open. The membership in attendance at the March 27, 2017 Spring Membership Meeting will be electing three (3) new Colorado PGA Members to replace our outgoing Board of Directors this coming October. Each newly elected Board Member will serve a three (3) year term beginning this October 16th, 2017 at the Section's Fall Membership Meeting and ending three (3) years later at the same meeting.

2-Day Teaching and Coaching Certified Professional Program Coming to Bear Dance
The 2-day Teaching and Coaching CPP Program will be held January 30-31, 2017 at the Golf Club at Bear Dance. The two-day (16 hour) program will cover all courses within the career path except the Revenue Management and Simulation course work in a workshop setting.

Phipps to Present First Green Foundation program at G4 Summit
David Phipps, the Northwest Region Field Staff Representative for the GCSAA will be one of the featured speakers at the G4 Summit. Phipps will present on on the First Green Foundation,
an innovative environmental education outreach program using golf courses as environmental learning labs - the only program of its kind in the world.

Sarah Hirshland has been the United States Golf Association's senior managing director of business affairs and a member of the executive team since 2011. In her role, she oversees the global distribution of USGA-owned content through the association's broadcast and digital media functions.

Two-Day Rules Workshop to Offer Discounts for Groups
The Colorado Golf Association, with support from the Allied Golf Associations of Colorado, will be hosting a two-day Rules Workshop concurrent with the 2017 Denver Golf Expo.
The more guests you register, the more discounted registrations fees will be. The following golf themed pricing structure will be utilized: Single: $75, Twosome: $100, Threesome: $125, Foursome: $150.

PAT Sites Needed for 2017 Season
The Colorado PGA is looking for courses interested in hosting a Playing Ability Test in 2017. The schedule runs from April through October and facilities must host the 36-hole test in one-day.

Dan O'Shaugnessy has taken over as the Head Professional at Meadow Hills Golf Course. O'Shaughnessy spent the last 15.5 years as the Head Professional at Fitzsimons Golf Course. Dan takes over for Brian Brown who recently retired from the City of Aurora golf course.
