The future of Denver is here.
Mayor Michael B. Hancock has released a set of five plans to guide Denver’s growth and its impact on development, parks, mobility options and more over the next 20 years. Via the city’s two-year Denveright outreach and planning effort, input from thousands of you has resulted in plans for a more inclusive, connected and healthy city, for all of us who live here today, as well as our neighbors of tomorrow.
The plan drafts are available for your review and feedback now! They are:

Denveright's Next Steps
The plans are available for public review and comment through October 31. You can review any plan and take a detailed survey to provide your feedback.

The city will host a Denveright community night on August 28, 2018 at City Park Pavilion where anyone may learn more about the plans. City planners will also host office hours in several locations beginning in September.

After October 31, the draft plans will be revised based on input received.

Then in early 2019, Denver City Council will review plans that require council adoption.

City planners will host an open house on the city’s zoning rules for household and group living in Denver on Tuesday, August 14 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the McNichols Building, 144 W. Colfax Ave. Residents can learn about the city’s current rules and provide input on how those rules can be improved and modernized.

Denver is seeing increasing demand for nontraditional housing, in part because of the increasing cost of housing in the city and the region. In light of that demand, evolving housing needs and trends locally and nationally, and recent changes to state and federal housing regulations, city planners have begun work with an advisory committee to evaluate the Denver Zoning Code’s rules for household and group living. Zoning rules could change for households, boarding houses, community corrections facilities, shelters for the homeless, residential care homes, assisted living, cooperatives (co-ops), tiny home villages and more.
Do you live in far northeast Denver?
Take a survey on ideas that could go in the plan.
Dozens of people attended the fourth meeting of the Far Northeast Area planning process July 12 and offered their comments on draft maps, recommendations and strategies for the issues that the community identified including future development, transit, food access and affordable housing.

If you couldn’t make the meeting, share your thoughts with us by taking our 20-minute survey. The survey replicates the exercises completed by meeting attendees, allowing you to share your feedback on the following topics and concerns:

  • Alternatives for residential collector streets
  • Strategies for parks and recreation
  • Transportation ideas, including transit, bicycle, and pedestrian networks
  • Roadway and intersection improvements
  • Strategies for affordable housing
  • Concepts for food access
  • Future growth and development in the area

For questions or difficulties with the survey, email [email protected] .

Community input will help guide this transformative project, one of the recommendations of the 2013 Decatur-Federal Station Area Plan.
