It Takes a Village to Raise a Partner
Tuesday, March 17, 2015 

Jack Bialosky Jr., AIA, LEED AP and David Craun, AIA, LEED AP of Bialosky & Partners Architects in Cleveland, OH will be presenting It Takes a Village to Raise a Partner. Examine the road to Partnership as one that requires equal ownership of the process by both older and newer leaders of the firm. This model of shared ownership asks experienced Partners to strategize in growing and harvesting the next generation of leadership together with future firm leaders.

INNOVATION IN TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
Call for Entries
Deadline: April 24, 2015 

The Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community is seeking outstanding examples of how unique applications of technology have been used to improve design, increase efficiency, improve collaboration or other direct benefit to the design/construction process. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury and the finalists work will be exhibited and presented at the June Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, June 16th. The winning submissions will be announced at the Finalists Presentations Event.

Finalists work will be exhibited June through July at The Center for Architecture and Design.

 

AIA Member - $25 per entry

Non-AIA Member - $50 per entry

AIA OHIO CARES PROGRAM APPLICATION

The goal of the AIA Ohio Cares Program is to encourage candidates to pursue registration. Applicants are required to complete the information requested below in its entirety. Each applicant is eligible for one grant for one section of ARE passed in calendar year 2015. AIA Ohio Associate members are eligible for a $200 grant. All other applicants are eligible for a $100 grant. Scholarships will be evaluated in the order received and awarded until the available funds are exhausted. More Information

2015 AIA Ohio Valley Region Convention 

The AIA Ohio Valley Region Convention in Columbus, OH on October 11-13, 2015 will bring together architects and allied professionals from around the region for three days of programs and activities. The Programming Sub-Committee is interested in providing a wide range of programs that will appeal to the needs of all convention attendees. With a focus on consistently evolving practice, it is the committee's hope that programs submitted will address the needs of a broad representation of the profession. AIA NATIONAL 2014 ANNUAL REPORT

COLUMBUS STATE ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM SURVEY 

Help guide the content of the Columbus State architecture curriculum by filling out this questionnaire survey! This quick survey, with questions regarding firm size, computer programs used in your office, and importance of concepts, will help provide data to feed the discussion with the Architects Advisory Committee to look at how to repackage the curriculum for the future architects of Columbus. OHIO CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE


The 2015 Ohio Construction Conference is set for Thursday, March 19th at The Ohio Union on the OSU campus. With more than 300 industry leaders expected to attend, the conference gathers owners, facility managers, design professionals, contractors and suppliers. 

The one day conference features a variety of breakout sessions and roundtables that discuss challenges the industry faces. Cost to attend the conference is $255 for the entire day's programming, meals, and refreshments. Half-day registration is available as well as bulk discounts for firms with multiple participants. More Information.

 

 

SYMPOSIUM ON SUSTAINABILITY IN HEALTHCARE 

Wright State University, SOCHE, UC Health and Heapy Engineering will co-host the 5th Annual Symposium on Sustainability in Health Care at the Sharonville Convention Center on March 26th, 2015. This is an educational and networking event for Health Care providers and industry partners. The symposium includes a Trade Expo which will feature over 50 exhibitor representing health care related and sustainably-based products and services, a keynote luncheon featuring Dick Jackson, two panel discussions, and a sponsors reception. AKRON-CANTON CSI PRODUCT FEST AND EXP 

Visit this annual expo on March 24th where over 50 companies will be showcasing building and construction related products and services. This is a free event to attendees, but pre-registration is mandatory. This year they are expanding to include beer tastings from craft brewers, meet and greet with owners, construction managers, and general contractors, diverse education sessions, and dinner. NEST: BUILD A BETTER BIRDHOUSE DESIGN COMPETITION


OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Neighborhood Design Center is proud to announce "Build a Better Birdhouse", a competition connecting architects, ornithologists, artists, designers and wildlife enthusiasts. Individual and team entries are accepted. Winner announced at reception and silent auction at The Center for Architecture and Design on May 6th. 
Registration deadline March 23, 2015. Submission deadline April 20, 2015.
