AIA Ohio Valley Region Convention
Deadline Extended to April 6th!
October 11-13, 2015

AIA Columbus is pleased to be the host chapter for the 2015 AIA Ohio Valley Region Convention in Columbus, Ohio! This convention will bring architects from AIA Indiana, AIA Kentucky, and AIA Ohio together for three days of programs and activities. The Programming Committee is currently seeking presentations for the convention. If you have an educational presentation, submit it for a chance to present to hundreds of architects around the region. Submit a Presentation Here

Marshall Brown is a licensed architect and urban designer in Chicago, IL.

 

Brian MacKay-Lyons, FRAIC, Hon. FAIA, from Nova Scotia, Canada, has contributed to architectural education in the region for 30 years.  


 
Monica Ponce de Leon, AIA, a National Design Award winner, is widely recognized as a pioneer in the application of robotic technology to building fabrication.

The Committee on the Environment is pleased to present David Darling, AIA, IIDA, ASLA of Aidlin Darling Design in San Francisco for the April Chapter Meeting, as part of the COTEducation Series. People spend most of their lives in and around buildings, yet often take for granted their relationships with them. Through a survey of the work of Aidlin Darling Design, this presentation will explore qualitative aspects of progressive green design with a focus on designing for all of the senses and for the human spirit.

INNOVATION IN TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
Call for Entries
Deadline: April 24, 2015 

The Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community is seeking outstanding examples of how unique applications of technology have been used to improve design, increase efficiency, improve collaboration or other direct benefit to the design/construction process. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury and the finalists work will be exhibited and presented at the June Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, June 16th. The winning submissions will be announced at the Finalists Presentations Event.

Finalists work will be exhibited June through July at The Center for Architecture and Design.

 

AIA Member - $25 per entry

AIA NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 

Deadline April 1st! 
AIA St. Louis announces the 2015 AIA National Photography Competition for Architects. The competition was founded to capture and highlight the multi-talents of the architect.  Winning images from the 2015 will be exhibited at the 2015 AIA Convention in Atlanta, GA and offered to AIA Chapters for digital exhibition after 2015 convention.  Entries are juried by a panel comprised of acclaimed architects, professional photographers or graphic designers.

NATIONAL FUTURE CITY COMPETITION    

AIA Columbus is proud to sponsor the Future City Competition and want to congratulate the Ohio region winning team of the National Future City Competition, Batavia Middle School, who will be representing Ohio in Washington DC! 


The competition gives middle school students the opportunity to design a city using SimCity software that illustrates futuristic ideas and components. Each team constructs a scale model of their city, and uses recycled material in a creative manner to show how the city functions.

The Neighborhood Design Center is proud to announce "Build a Better Birdhouse", a competition connecting architects, ornithologists, artists, designers and wildlife enthusiasts. Individual and team entries are accepted. Winner announced at reception and silent auction at The Center for Architecture and Design on May 6th.
