Light the lamp in Novi's floor hockey league
Co-ed league open to players in grades K-1, 2-3 & 4-6
Score big with Novi's Youth Floor Hockey League this winter.

The co-ed league, which plays games on Sundays from February 26-March 26, is played in 6v6 format including the goalies. Practices are 30 minutes, followed by a game.

All players will get five games and practices, a jersey and an award. Coaches and assistant coaches will serve as the referees. There are divisions for grades K-1, 2-3 and 4-6.

Alice in Wonderland Jr. auditions Saturday

Showcase your acting chops in the new youth musical theater production of Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Auditions, for those in grades K-8, take place from noon-5pm on January 21 at the Novi Civic Center. Pre-register at cityofnovi.org.

For those who make the cast, rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. There will be a mandatory parents meeting on January 30 for parents of those in the cast.

Performances are scheduled for March 24-26 at the Novi Civic Center.

Please join us for an Atrium Art Reception from 6-8pm on January 27 at the Novi Civic Center.

We will be recognizing the amazing work of artists Wendy Mutch and Mary Kondraciuk that is on display in the atrium. The event is open to the public and will include light refreshments and a chance to meet the local artists.

Free car seat safety checks this Saturday
Inspections offered from 9-noon at Novi Fire Station No. 4
Ensure your child is riding properly in their car seat by having it inspected or installed by a certified technician from 9-noon on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Novi Fire Station #4, 49375 Ten Mile Road.
 
The Novi Fire Department has four certified and licensed Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff ready to provide the most updated information and a free check of your child seat and, if necessary, perform a complete child seat installation.
 
Those who want their seat installed or checked are asked to bring the vehicle's owners manual, the car seat manual, and, if possible, the child who will use the safety seat.

No appointment necessary, but appointments can be made by visiting cityofnovi.org or calling 248.735.5673. The checks should only take about 25 minutes to complete.
