It's an American Girl Slumber Party!
Bring a doll, sleeping bag & pillow to movie night on Nov. 11
The American Girl Doll craze is in full effect in Novi with the recent opening of a store inside Twelve Oaks Mall.

And the fun continues from 6-8pm on Nov. 11 when girls can get together for a American Girl Slumber Party at the Novi Civic Center.

Bring your favorite American Girl Doll, a sleeping bag and pillow to the best slumber party in town. Girls will make a no sew tutu for their doll and then get in sleeping bags with popcorn to watch "An American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the spotlight."

Cost is $14 per child, and all will be entered into a raffle for prizes at the end of the night. For more information or to register, visit cityofnovi.org. 
Crafters wanted for the Holiday Bazaar
Showcase your artwork at Light Up the Night on Friday, Dec. 2
Get your application in soon to have the chance to showcase your artwork at the  2016 Holiday Bazaar at Light Up the Night on Friday, Dec. 2.

Only crafters selling handmade work, created by the crafter themselves are eligible to purchase a table. Applications are due by 4pm on Nov. 4. 

There is limited space available and the Light Up the Night Committee will be selecting the crafters who will be at the event. Applicants will be notified of selection by 5pm on Nov. 14.

All proceeds go to the crafter and each crafter is responsible for collecting and reporting sales tax on sales made during the show.

Basketball, volleyball leagues filling up fast
Winter leagues available for players of all ages, skill levels
Have some fun this winter by joining a team in Novi's winter basketball and volleyball leagues.

Basketball season starts Jan. 9 and consists of weekly practices on weeknights and seven games, mostly played on Saturdays.

There are teams for coed kindergarten, coed grade 1, coed grade 2, girls grade  3-5, girls grade 6-8, boys grade 3-4, boys grade 5-6 and boys grade 7-8.

Cost for returning players is $95 resident, $114 non-resident, while new players pay $115 resident, $138 non-resident. New players pay extra for their jersey.

Volleyball also starts the week of Jan. 9 and consists of weekly practices on weeknights and seven games, mostly played on Saturdays. 

There are teams for girls in grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Leagues may combine or split based on registration numbers.

Cost for returning players is $84 resident, $99 non-resident, while new players is $104 resident, $125 non-resident. New players pay extra for their jersey.

Plant seeds of music in the Musikgarten
Program designed to increase a child's curiosity about music
Participate with your baby and toddler in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, focused listening and instrumental play at the Musikgarten - Budding Sprouts program.

Through this music and movement, your child's musical aptitude and listening abilities are enhanced and further developed.

Classes take place on from 10-10:40am on Mondays or Tuesdays starting the week of Nov. 14. Activities are designed to increase your child's curiosity about music, establish a sense of beat, as well as a foundation for singing and musical thought.
