Join an adult sports league in Novi this fall
Soccer, basketball & volleyball leagues start week of Sept. 11
Summer has come to an end but that doesn't mean the fun is over.

Adult sports season is set to begin with soccer, basketball and volleyball leagues for people of all skill levels.

The fall outdoor soccer league plays games on Sunday afternoons starting Sept. 11. The 6v6, five game league plays its games at ITC Community Sports Park. Players can register as a team or call the parks office at 248.347.0400 to be placed on a "free agent" list as an individual.

The adult 3 on 3 basketball league takes place on Wednesdays starting Sept. 14 at Orchard Hills Elementary. Season includes seven nights of doubleheaders, and the top two teams will play the seventh week for a shot at the championship. Individuals who register will be placed on teams. 

Open gym for adult volleyball runs on Mondays starting Sept. 12 at Novi Meadows. The 13-week open gym opportunity is perfect for anyone who wants to play just for fun. Pre-registration is required. This is not a drop-in program.

Grab a racket and fall in love with tennis
FunStart Tennis starts Sept. 19, Youth Beginner Tennis on Sept. 28
Fall in love with the game of tennis through a variety of programs offered by Novi Parks.

FunStart Tennis, for ages 6-10, is an officially recognized USTA program that teaches the basic tennis skills through fun games. Classes are Mondays at Village Oaks, Tuesdays at Deerfield or Wednesdays at Parkview and start the week of Sept. 19.

If you already know the basics then FunStart Tennis Drill and Play might be for you. Fun games and drills will be used to improve your skills and game. Classes will be taught to the level of the participants and take place on Mondays starting Sept. 19 at Village Oaks.

Advance your skills even more with Todd Beyer and the Youth Beginner Tennis class with sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting Sept. 28-29 at Novi Woods. Students will be taught the fundamentals of tennis and should expect to hit a lot of balls in this fast paced class. Classes are available for ages 7-10 and 11-15.

Share your voice with the Novi Choralaires 
Open rehearsal Sept. 13 at Novi Middle School
Share your love of singing with men and women from Novi and the surrounding communities through the Novi Choralaires.

The community chorus, founded in 1975, is hosting open rehearsals at 7:30pm on Sept 13 at the Novi Middle School Choir Room. Membership is $100 for the full season (September-May).

The Choralaires perform a Holiday Concert series in December, a Spring Concert in May and at a variety of venues throughout the season.

Explore the beautiful Villa Barr property 
An Artpark in Your Backyard event takes place 2-5pm Sept. 24
Did you know there is a beautiful art park right here in Novi? 

Villa Barr, a four-acre property on Napier Road near Nine Mile Road, was previously owned by internationally famed artist David Barr and now is owned by the City.

Come explore Villa Barr at the special Novi Parks Foundation event "An Artpark in Your Backyard" from 2-5pm on Sept. 24. Tickets are $20 and include a variety of wines and musical entertainment. Local artists also will be on hand creating pieces during the event.

The property includes a home, studio and sculpture garden. Future plans for the property include a public park, sculpture garden and cultural education center.

Parking for the event is available at ITC Community Sports Park. Parking is not available at Villa Barr because it is in its natural state and unpaved. Shuttles will run from ITC Park throughout the event.
