Developing a Zika response plan?
We can help!
Use MCS' free white paper as a template to help you design an effective protocol

Mosquito Control Services (MCS) has developed Zika response protocols that it follows in many of the counties, municipalities, military/industrial facilities, and states where it is contracted to provide mosquito control. These protocols are customized to each entity’s individual needs and risk factors. They are also based on MCS’ 30 years of experience of providing mosquito abatement, surveillance, and virus response. Level of response provided will vary based on the type of transmission, whether the virus was locally transmitted, and the extent of the outbreak.

It is important to have a plan in place prior to virus activity being detected, at which point it may be too late to launch an effective response. Districts that that have an integrated mosquito management program in place have a significantly better chance of suppressing an outbreak. It is imperative that districts without comprehensive programs make a Zika contingency plan.

MCS biologists and entomologists have many years of experience providing response to local mosquito-borne virus transmission, and they are available to assist you in creating a Zika response plan.  The following white-paper details components that are integral to a comprehensive Zika response plan, including performing door-to-door inspections, habitat reduction, larviciding, adulticiding, public education, trapping, surveillance, and virus testing, while coordinating and maintaining communication with state/local/federal government entities.
