    Program Aide  
    Become a Diamonds Program Aide! You'll learn how to work with younger Girl Scouts and explore your own talent as a leader. Upon completion of the training, girls will be awarded a certificate and T-shirt. You can then practice your Program Aide skills at six activity sessions and earn your Program Aide pin!
     
    As a pre-requisite to taking this course, girls must have completed at least one Leader-In-Action (LIA) Award from the Cadette Girl Guide to Girl Scouting and submit the required LIA Report (found on the Diamonds website).

    Silver and Gold Training  
    Girl Scouts who complete their projects are honored with the Silver or Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn for her age group. Join us for Silver and Gold 101 Training to have a better understanding on how to complete your project. Gold Award Training is now mandatory for any girl beginning her project in the 2017 membership year.

    Girl Scouts of the USA has collaborated with the Disney Channel to create a leadership guide that can help families develop leadership traits and encourage their girls to be  G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders)™ . Click here to access the guide.

    Sew Creative | Little Rock | Cost: $15-20
    Girls will learn basic sewing skills and sewing safety while building self-esteem! Programs may be customized for each troop and leaders may select from a variety of age-appropriate projects, including fashion accessories and stuffed animal friends! User-friendly sewing machines, sewing tools, and a selection of fun pre-cut fabric are provided. No prior sewing experience is required.

    VA Flag Ceremonies | Texarkana | Cost: Free

    The VA is looking for girls to lead the flag ceremony for their upcoming Town Hall meetings January 19, 2017, May 18, 2017, and September 21, 2017, at 5:00PM. This is a great opportunity for girls to gain experience with flag ceremonies and earn service hours. Contact Emily to sign up for one of the above dates.

    LifeSource International needs your help! They offer a variety of volunteer opportunities from meal outreach, senior Saturdays, and stocking their pantry. The LifeSource mission is to strengthen our community by providing customized assistance to families in need. Contact by phone to sign up. Make it even more interesting and see who can gather up the most canned food to donate in your troop!

    Visit the Two Rivers Museum where girls can explore their own family tree in the genealogy room and learn about what it was like to live in the past through the historical exhibits. Brownies and Juniors will earn badges and older girls can research their history and the history of their community! 

    Opportunity to help a fellow Girl Scout Troop
    Help a fellow Girl Scout troop Take Action with their Sisterhood Journey! A Senior/Ambassador troop from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Council is creating a "Sisterhood Across the Nation" cookbook. Please send a recipe of your troop's favorite regional dishes and what they look like completed. Also include a picture of your troop cooking the recipe to be included in the book. Troop 9554 will send all troops that participate a complimentary copy of the completed product. Please email your recipes, photos and photo release no later than January 16, 2017 to shyanne9193@hotmail.com
