Did You Know?

Dear SCVi Family Member,

Did you know that unlike traditional public schools, SCVi incurs the very significant expense of paying rent for its facilities? Historically California charter schools have received up to 30-50 percent lower annual operating funds than traditional public schools, while SCVi works diligently to provide so much more for each of our 1,000 TK-12 learners.

SCVi asks all families to contribute to our Family Giving Program, and no amount is ever too small. Sadly, most families do not make this critical investment. Family Giving enables us to bridge some of our added expenses and deficits while ensuring that every TK-12 learner receives hands-on curriculum, state-of-the-art technology, art, music, and other enrichment resources. Family Giving helps fund professional development for our facilitators and operating costs that are not funded by the state of California.

The suggested Family Giving tax-deductible contribution is $365 per one-learner family plus $100 per additional learner. For families who make or exceed this suggested contribution by December 17, 2014, we would like to share a few appreciation opportunities with you. As a special thank-you, we would like you to enjoy the following:

  • The at-cost rate to attend our annual Benefit Dinner this spring 2015 for up to two attendees ($50 per person, a $100 dollar value!)
  • Invitation to the Advance Preview Event with SCVi's architects to reveal new facility growth plans
  • Family Giving donor recognition in the 2014-2015 yearbook

All family members who invest in Family Giving will receive a personalized letter informing you of your Family Giving contribution for use as your official tax deduction documentation for the 2014 tax year. Take advantage of this important tax deduction while supporting SCVi!

Please help us make a positive impact this year by investing in Family Giving. Complete the

attached Family Giving form and return it before December 17 in order to take advantage of our special offers. Should you have any questions, please call or e-mail Charlene Spiteri at 661-645-6495 or [email protected].

Sincerely,

Charlene Spiteri, iLEAD Foundation Director
