Love Gift for Mr. Daryl
As many of you probably know by now, our Director of Children's Ministries, Daryl Jans, will be completing his tenure with us on VBS Sunday, June 25th. Daryl's wife, Sharon, has already moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she is a professor at the Ohio State University School of Nursing. Daryl and his daughters will be relocating after his final Sunday with us.

In recognition of Mr. Daryl's wonderful ministry with our children, we would like to send him off with a "love gift", much like we did Josh Swaim when he and Kaitlyn left us to become the pastor of the Tiffin UMC, last summer.

If you would like to participate in this "love gift" please make your checks payable to "Shueyville United Methodist Church" and put on the memo line "love gift". We would like to have the funds gathered before June 18th, if at all possible, so a check can be presented to him on his last Sunday with us.

Please make every effort to be present on June 25th. That day we will recognize Mr. Daryl in all three services... AND... celebrate his ministry with cake during fellowship time!

Thanks in advance for your prayerful consideration. We have truly been blessed these last five years by Daryl's joyful spirit and his heart for the children of this community. He is well deserving of all the accolades we might be able to give.

Sunday School Announcement
Due to the One Service Sunday there will not be Sunday School on June 11th. We hope to see you at the 10:00 a.m. worship and picnic that follows.

2017 VBS Mission Project
This year our VBS Mission Project  is to stock the Prairie High School Grab and Go Pantry! Any brand or  flavor is appreciated. Did you know some students do not have food to eat at home? The week of VBS we will be collecting granola bars and fruit snacks to share with Prairie High School students in the fall. Jesus BUILT US FOR A PURPOSE and part of that purpose is to help  others. Together the SUMC children can reach out to  help other children in need!

This year's VBS dates are June 19th-22nd, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

If you have any question or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Daryl Jans or Heather Nekola.
Offering for Habitat for Humanity
There will be a special offering on Sunday, June 18th for Habitat for Humanity. If you would like to contribute please make your check out to SUMC and in the memo part of your check write Habitat for Humanity.

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!). Just drop an email or phone the office (848-7213), so there are no surprises. Thank you!
