Summer Time is the Perfect Time to Download eBooks and Audio Books for the Road!
Take some books along on your next long car trip---audio books! You can download free audio books using OverDrive, or you can check out books on CD at your library. Audio books are a great way to make travel time feel like fun time. And don't forget to load up on eBooks, too! These free downloads are an easy way to take your library with you on the road. A Stellar Line-up: The 2016/2017 Author! Author! Literary Series
The 2016/2017 season of the Deschutes Public Library Foundation's Author! Author! literary series promises a fantastic line-up of Pulitzer Prize winners and nominees:  Katherine Boo ("Behind the Beautiful Forevers"), Anthony Doerr ("All the Light We Cannot See"), Siddhartha Mukherjee ("The Emperor of All Maladies") and Dave Eggers ("A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"). Season tickets will be on sale soon; please check the Library Foundation's website for the most current information.

15 Minute Histories
Voices from the past come to life at your library! We've partnered with the Deschutes Historical Museum to bring you 15 Minute Histories, which are brief but fascinating oral histories of some of Central Oregon's first residents---some of whom were among the first born in Bend. Check out the article about the project in The Bulletin, and find the 15 Minute Histories online here.

Sunriver Nature Center Passes Now Available through Your Library
Deschutes Public Library now offers free passes to the Sunriver Nature Center and the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver! We're excited to add these passes to the Desert Explorer Passes that give you free access to the High Desert Museum. Deschutes County residents with a library card can check out a pass at any of our libraries. Each pass is good for four individuals to visit the selected museum within a week. Note, the number of passes available on any given day is limited; visit our website for complete details on how you can check out a museum pass.  
Family Yoga and Stories
All ages are invited to enjoy yoga inspired stories and super fun yoga poses! Instructor Deven Sisler, known as New York City's "best yoga clown in town," teaches Children's Yoga at Namaspa and will bring his fun brand of yoga to the library for these special sessions:
