MoE grants consents for 30 projects
Friday, 12 October 2012 00:29 Baghdad (AIN) : The Ministry pf Environment has granted the consents for (30) projects in services, industrial and agricultural fields distributed among the districts and suburbs of Wasit province. The Ministry of Environment quoted its official spokesperson and the director of environmental information, Amer Ali Hasson, as saying that ''The Ministry of Environment granted the consents for (30) projects after meeting the required environmental conditions.'' SLC MP: Security ministers to be approved by Maliki only
Thursday, 11 October 2012 22:20 Baghdad (AIN) : MP, Ibrahim al-Rikabi, of the State of Law Coalition assured that the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, is the only person who is authorized to approve the nomination of the security ministers. Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Thursday, he said "In spite of the talks over the security ministries, but the only and last word will be for Maliki as being the General Commander of the Armed Forces, to approve the nomination of the candidates for the security ministers post after reviewing their curriculum vita." Private banks financed small and medium-sized projects for Iraqi citizens

The results of financing small and medium-sized enterprises by a number of private banks and in cooperation with the United States Agency for Development seemed clearly visible, according to operators of the project during their third meeting where emphasized that the number of applicants for these projects is increasing due to profits obtained from them.

I live in a small town in NC in the Piedmont west of Charlotte. We have a WF Value checking account. They have been charging us a 9 dollar a month fee for the last two months so my wife called them yesterday.
There were no "bankers" there so they gave her an appointment for today. So my wife goes in at the appointed time and is taken care of by the same woman who opened her account. It seems to avoid the charge you must maintain fifteen hundred dollars in the account so my wife wrote a check for the additional sum necessary to avoid the charge.
The banker recalled my wife and remembered she had opened the account for Dinar. She said, " We have just been told that very soon we will have customers coming into the bank to exchange Dinar for Dollars."
My wife asked her if she knew of any others who had them and did she. Her response was that she herself lived from paycheck to paycheck and could not afford any. And she knew of only one other lady that had opened an account for Dinar.

[BWM] the main differences with banks vs. credit unions are these: 1)banks will all offer the same services, where the credit unions will vary greatly by location the services AND interest rates they provide. 2)membership of some kind is required at credit unions whether it be employment or relation to employment. 3) many credit unions may not have a wealth management or offer protection for large deposit accounts (see local availabilities) 5) the NCUA is managed in part by the PACA which is the Office of Public and Congressional Affairs

[BWM] in looking locally... the credit union here was not a good option if you had more than a million dollars to deposit and were looking for growth (only offered a max of .75% interest but others did offer higher) while it is a great setup if you were a small depositor looking for the protection of a large group of smaller accounts, if you are looking for protection for large amounts of cash you need to look at your local area and determine if perhaps they have made arrangements for those type of accounts...

The MP said Najiba Najib told all of Iraq [where] on Thursday, that "the budget for 2013 did not reach so far into the House of Representatives, is still between the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance, and I think that if approved by the Council of Ministers next week, certainly will reach to the parliament, and according to the constitution, the parliament can not take legislative recess, and must always extend the legislative term until ratification of the budget. "
Najib: the central government demanded wait to draft the deletion of zeros from the currency

BAGHDAD (Iba) : Said Najiba Najib member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives that the project raise zeros from the Iraqi currency project was the Central Bank, and the preparations for this subject were ongoing, and the bank has a plan to be the year 2013 beginning of the work in this project to restructure the Iraqi currency, but due to the conditions last for crisis cash after the patient to do so.
She Najib told the independent press (Iba) that the application of the restructuring of the Iraqi currency project needs the support of all the institutions of government and parliament, so the central bank can implement this project successfully.
It pointed out that the parliamentary Finance Committee and after the study requested by the Central Bank in this regard, is satisfied and agreed on a draft restructuring currency and raise zeros.

A member of the Iraqi delegation to Tokyo, deputy governor of the Central Bank of Iraq the appearance of Mohammed Saleh said that "Iraq participates in the annual conference of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which lasts for four days Bbmthleen are Minister of Finance and Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and his deputy."

Freebird: Well, it looks like I was completely off the mark with my September prediction I've had for a year now. Just wanted to come on and man up to that.
The CBI's goal a year ago was to start introducing the LDs last month. Unfortunately, the GOI was unable to pass the oil & gas law and introduce a power sharing government which was a key component to moving forward as mentioned by the UNSC, IMF, CBI and Finance Committee.
They are moving far slower than expected (snail's pace) but they are still moving forward. Today they announced that they had a clear choice for the Defense Minister (Salem Daly) and that position should become official shortly.

Billio0: I fully understand what occurred with the Chile Re-denomination of their currency. What puzzles me about a comparison to Iraq and the existing IQD that we have invested in, as well as many others who own it both large and small, corporate and government, is that we purchased it legally from US regulated banks and licensed dealers. As such, Iraq (CBI) has an obligation to honor it at all times.
If they chose to re-denominate the value of their currency by putting another currency in circulation, it seems to me that they are also obligated to replace the existing currency, which we have in our possession, with the new currency in an amount equivalent to the present value of the IQD.
Anything short of this would constitute a failure on the part of Iraq (CBI) to honor their debt to us.
