wcgillian said... there's already a lot of articles out there saying that the judge that issued a warrant has already been slapped down by his superiors. It doesn't look like this is anything to worry about at this time.
rvnow88 said... yeah, this must be an act of desperation on M's part. Amnesty law is being voted on tomorrow which I believe is tied to the infrastructure law and those two laws are the requirements from the UNSC to get out of CH7 and into CH8 which allows for a trade-able currency.

10-15-12 Dontlop: I think if Shabibi has an ongoing plan and he was told he had full control and his time isn't up. They wont be able to do anything about it.
It's very possible he has more than one set of books. If you were going to secretly revalue a currency you couldnt publish everything so everyone could follow your secret plan.
The government of Iraq could jeopardize his plan if he is forced to open the books to prove his innocence. It would be over. All they have access to is one set of books.
The question is are there more than one set of books in a situation like this one and some higher ups are pushing to see what's on that other set of books so they can have an inside trading advantage. So far if there is other sets of books its been a good job keeping them hidden.
Could Maliki's ignorance lead to the destruction of the last 5 years work of Dr Shabibi when he could be next to finishing the job and never being able to implement his policy since it was exposed?

Shabibi has the dirt on him and is going to expose his corruption. This whole scheme was hatched by Maliki to take control of the CBI. The warrant was issued directly following parliament rejection of giving Maliki control over independent bodies, including the CBI because it was unconstitutional. This may turn out to be just what we needed to expose the real corruption, get rid of the Prime Minister and establish a power sharing government.

10-15-12 Revbo: "The World Bank is interested exceptional developments and action is unprecedented and unexpected against Iraqi Central Bank Governor and governor Shabibi." Sounds like the World Bank is kinda throwing Shabs under the bus.
If I'm reading this right, they're saying something like, we like Shabibi and don't think anything will come of this, but if you're gonna throw him in jail, we want one of our guys in his place.
I expected something more like, the charges against Shabibi are political in nature and without merit. The World Bank demands they be dropped, and Governor Shabibi be allowed to continue his work unimpeded.
As others have said, Shabibi seems to be waiting for the perfect time to push the button, and there isn't going to be a perfect time until well after the world economy is trashed even more than it already is.
