The Kurds news paper has a ticker tape running across the top and it said that the HCL and the Irbil (correct spelling with an I) will be announced at the National Convention. And that everything was voted on and passed last week. And the Marshal Plan is also open on the 15th. I do believe that it will be the cover for the RV or CE. 10-8-12 Doc: We have several articles confirming a couple of key points we speculated on last week. First, several releases confirmed Maliki is the major roadblock in the political landscape of Iraq.
This includes most all the reform such as Erbil, currency, etc. One news outlet reported "President Jalal Talabani seeks to resolve the crisis through the provision of paper carrying visions of all the blocks, asserting that Maliki has the key to solving the crisis agreed to implement what.
" This is very consistent with Allawi's assertion that Maliki has been the roadblock for some time. We continue to assert that the main reason for Maliki's interference is pressure from Iran and the US all-be-it for different reasons.

10-8-12 Rhouston998: The only way Iraq can move forward is to institute a power sharing government, just like they agreed to long ago. You can't blame Maliki's opposition for being upset. He's broken every promise he's made and keeps stringing them along like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit that's always just out of reach.
The only reason he escaped being questioned before Parliament, removed from office and charged with crimes was because he promised to do what was asked with him. He has yet to comply and time is up. Without immediate implementation of the Erbil agreement his opposition will be going in another direction once again which does not include a compromise.

I just curious why They don't trade Iraq dinar with the other foreign currencies anymore? Do Iraqis still use Iraq dinar or dollar right now? Have folks ever done this before? As far as people buying IQD in banks they used to be able to but now im not too sure you can. When this will occur I don't know and where we will be able to trade in our dinars when the Rv happens not too sure on that as well but I do know the dealers will more than likely be buying it back at the new rate and possibly some foreign currency exchange offices. ...

10-8-12 Butifldrm: In order for a country to change it's currency a Letter of Submission must be sent to ISDA with a new currency code. We all have been studying Iraq's potential for re-denomination as a neutral even for a few years now.
The news coming out of Iraq has been very conflicting over the past three years. There's one thing for sure that will have to happen for Iraq to re-denominate or change it's currency code, Iraq will have to give notice to the ISDA before redenomination, such as Turkey did 2004.
Turkey submitted this document December 10th 2004, and re-denominated January 1, 2005. I check frequently for such a document from Iraq, but have not seen one posted on the internet. Hopefully we will see an increase in the value before we see this document.

10-8-12 LoriC: There are some encouraging headlines this morning. The Prime Minister agreed to a NC and realizes that he will only get all the leaders to the table by implementing Erbil terms. The fact that they are moving forward makes me think it's in the reform package and just being hidden from the public until it has been finalized. The energy commission said they have made a lot of progress with the HCL lately and they are just tweaking a few paragraphs. All the news out of Iraq continues to be very positive.

Completed the bulk of the proceedings, among that a new currency in circulation must be the beginning of the calendar year where it is determined to start implementation."
I Think its saying that if they are to RD it must happen at the start of the new year and not in July. Also sounds like confirmation that printing has started. Budget submitted shows no zeros removed, so who knows. This does not mean that Shabibi can not or will not correct the rate before an RD.

KRG gets oil payment from Baghdad, exports to flow

(Reuters) : Iraqi Kurdistan's leading oil producer, Genel Energy, said it would keep crude exports flowing after the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) finally received an initial payment from Baghdad.
The central government and the autonomous region agreed last month to settle a dispute over oil payments after the KRG promised to continue exports and Baghdad pledged to pay foreign companies working there.
Iraq's finance ministry issued an initial payment early last week, but the funds had not landed in the KRG account by Friday, prompting Genel to say it would halt exports if the money did not arrive soon.
On Monday, the first installment of 650 billion Iraqi dinars ($558.9 million) was received, a KRG spokesman said.
DNO says don't yet know size of Iraq oil payout

(Reuters) : Norwegian oil and gas company DNO International don't yet know how big an oil payment it will receive from Iraqi authorities, a spokesman said on Monday.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Monday received a first installment of 650 billion Iraqi dinars ($558.90 million) from Baghdad to be distributed to foreign companies exporting oil.
