However you look at it, and no matter how it is worded, the WB along with many others are pushing very hard for them to get their act together and make themselves, as well as everyone else rich! 11-11-12 Roadrunner: "World Bank offers to Iraq three analytical reports related to economic policy." Not real sure where this is heading, but it sure sounds promising. At least there seems to be more interest in their economy than before. I like this part; "He said a Foreign Ministry statement that the World Bank is to be implemented in Iraq and cooperation with the Iraqi institutions in the areas of agricultural, industrial and service and investment."
11-11-12 Mike: Everybody is entitled to their opinion out there on when and how it will happen. You can argue about free float, managed float whatever. But if the basics of the economy are not set its all for not. That's what you need to look at because once they add value to this you have to get the people to put the money in the banks the banking system has to work like the Central Banking System is supposed to work.
11-11-12 BGG: "Najafi chaired a meeting of the heads of blocs to resolve the five laws Off and discuss the ration card." I believe this meeting has happened and they have the agreements in Parliament to get things done. This is a movement of the Parliament members themselves to solve the issues facing Iraq no matter what the big party bosses are doing. It's about time!!

Council of Ministers reconsiders its decision over canceling Ration Card

Baghdad (AIN) : The Council of Ministers decided to cancel its previous decision over canceling the Ration Card and replacing it with cash money.
Informed source stated to AIN "The Council decided to cancel its decision during its urgent session that is held on Sunday."
Earlier, an informed source announced that the Council of Ministers will postpone the decision of canceling the Ration Card during its meeting on Sunday.

3 Scenarios For Vietnam's 2012 Economic Growth
Three possible scenarios for the country's economic growth this year were unveiled yesterday by the National Committee for Financial Supervision.
In the first scenario, which is considered "a good one," Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) growth will reach 6 to 6.3 percent, while inflation is restricted to 8 to 10 percent. The state budget's overspending in 2012 is around 4.8 percent of GDP.
With a bright outlook on the global economy, and the stable economic development of the country's major exporting markets such as the US and Japan, Vietnam's export turnovers are expected to rise by 12 - 13 percent, while imports post a 13-14 percent increase this year.
The trade deficit would be equal to 11-12 percent of total export revenues. The rate recorded last year was 9.9 percent.

Parliament expects prices following the abolition of the ration to 40%

D. Governor Sinan al-Shabibi article for "CBI": accused of corruption because the government is trying to control the bank's foreign currency

Shabibi denied the former governor of the Central Bank of Iraq parliamentary accusations against him of corruption, saying: "It is a victim of a government campaign in an attempt to control the bank's foreign currency reserves."
The agency "Reuters" news, the Iraqi government dismissed Shabibi last month after being accused of a parliamentary inquiry central bank officials of manipulating dollar auctions.
And local authorities issued arrest warrants for al-Shabibi, who left the country and other bank officials, a decision highlighted investors worried intervention of the government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in the bank's independence.
Shabibi said told reporters in Geneva that he believed that the main problem is that the central bank did not fund the government because the law does not allow this. He added that the accusations and criticism is unfair and vague.
