4-13-2012 SWFloridaGuy: Today is a great news day. Issues that have been addressed are the Ministers, Amnesty law, Erbil and another shot at the National Meeting. For Iraq to have a complete GOI they need to have all the ministers seated for security reasons. The National Alliance now has two candidates for the Interior Ministry. One of these positions will be the Ministry of Defense. For a long time we have speculated that the CBI was waiting on a fully seated GOI, Erbil power sharing, HCL/article140, and then after the RV they would be released from Chapter 7 although that is not a direct stipulation. This is all speculation though and it's hard to know what is required for the RV. We're just following progress Iraq is making as a country and guessing how it may tie in. For all we know Shabibi may pull the trigger before these things are accomplished. No one really knows for sure but many pretend to. We do our best

For years now we've been hearing about the CBI's plan to "remove the zeros" from the Iraqi Dinar and equalize the value of the IQD with the other major currencies of the world, including the American Dollar.

With the success of the recent Arab summit in Baghdad, and the imminent release of Iraq from the United Nations sanctions (Chapter 7), what are your thoughts concerning this subject?

Articles we read this evening about the Central Bank is about the attack from Maliki on the Central Bank
Why is that important?  Because Maliki wants to take over the Central Bank - he wants to take it over for his own purposes and yes he probably wants to RV and give value to the dinar - but he's more interested not in the money because thats what we are interested in but there not...he interested in the safety - he can keep the people safe but he is more interested in the money for his budget because he doesn't really like the whole Central Banking System - He wants the government to be in control over this and the banking -  he doesn't want that separated - he wants it like it was in the old days with Sadam   - That doesn't work in your country so that you can't go down to the store and pull out these things and the money you need and not do it - supports your currency - thats what Sadam did - you can't do that - he's under the impression all of his oil he is going to pump out of the ground is going to support his currency but he doesnt realize how the rest of the world operates with that so they are little closed eye to all of that - So the 2 things we talked about is the CBI is being attacked - these are attack articles from Maliki's side
you are going to see alot more of these from Malikis side  - trying to point at this high exchange rate -

4-13-2012 SWFloridaGuy: Two big things were annouced today. National meeting is being scheduled for next week and the Amnesty Law was sent to the House for a vote. The last meeting on the 5th was a bust because the Iraqi List boycotted all meetings until the terms of the Erbil agreement are implemented and they see the adoption of the Amnesty Law. Political blocs are tired of the procrastination of the Erbil power sharing agreement and the UN also addressed the need for this to be resolved for Iraq to move forward and become an economic leader not only regionally but globally. Erbil is one of the oldest cities in the world, one of the largest in Iraq and the capital of the Kurdistan region. It appears Talabani has been able to get the necessary leaders back to the table. The Iraqi List is headed by Allawi and it appears like they may now be meeting next week and the timing coincides with the Amnesty bill which is being sent to the House for approval. Both important issues. Look for progress made with HCL/article140, fully seated GOI, introduction of the new currency, raising of their exchange rate and then the tariffs being put into effect.

CaptainD: sparkles : The Iraqi courts have already ruled that the Central Bank of Iraq is under the jurisdiction of the Iraq government specifically the Prime Minister's Cabinet. Prime Minister Maliki is attempting to reshape the Central Bank of Iraq starting with upper management. The hard currency in Iraq which is the U.S. dollar is appreciating against the local currency as merchants are continuing to buy and sell in U.S. dollars. Governor Shabibi is negotiating his departure from the Central Bank of Iraq along with other senior members of the CBI. We will see departures in the management of the CBI by the end of the year. It is rumored that they will be leaving the country.

OF CHANGING RATES. I KNOW SCOTTIG AND THE INFO COMING OUT OF IRAQ IS THAT THE CBI MINISTER OF FINANCE AND THE IMF ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THE RATE OF THE IQD AS WE SPEAK. 

TO OUR KNOWLEDGE IT HAS BEEN SETTLED JUST NOT ANNOUNCED YET 
WITH MALIKI NEUTERED WE WILL SOON SEE RESULTS.

4-12-2012 Scotti G: I think that the truth is good. It may not always be what we want but I value it. Now if it is not the truth then it may be a well timed misdirection. You know my sources are telling me that we could see this very soon. 

But as I said earlier. We thought that back month before month before month! I have felt very comfortable for awhile that we are exactly where we want to be. I think the move to lock Maliki down  last weekend was HUGE! I hope the resolution of M will bring the fulfillment of Erbil

BGG] I know there are some folks who are convinced Maliki will stay - I was pretty sure he would at one time too, and he could make a "hard left" at any time and save his fannie...but for now, they are angling to get him gone.

[BGG] wealthbytrade - only referring back to my statements a couple of days ago - I expected this wave of public sentiment to continue "ramping up" (political pressure) thru about Sunday and then look for some kind of a deal shortly thereafter...(which I'm hearing is possible).

Bear5642: well have you seen the latest that they have decided to stop the lifting of the 3 zeros? This could be the tell tale sign of the rv. My contact in iraq quote "lower denoms are not in the market places" its not smoke because a lot of stuff came out today in referance to the imf and the chapter7 issue so they can revalue their currency. They feel they must revalue first before they can drop the zeros. They feel they must revalue first before they can drop the zeros. It makes perfect sense who would want to exchange their currency for smaller notes if they were not worth more first i have been saying this all along and this totally discredits a lop. 

Bear5642: Council of Ministers - The CBI to take more effective measures in the face of rising exchange rates of the dollar against the dinar the government for urgent action to prevent the deterioration of the Iraqi economy and to stop the decline in the exchange rate of the dinar against foreign currencies. Saleh said in a statement he made to the agency/Nina/: "the government should act urgently to stop the Tdhoralaguetsad Iraq and to stop the fall in its currency against the dollar difficult set of procedures in the forefront to stop and prevent the smuggling of foreign currency abroad and non-interference in the work of the Central Bank of Iraq.
