9-26-2012 Doc: We continue with our waiting and see status. While the news continues favorable nothing of significance has been confirmed. HCL is still looming as are the open GOI seats. Also despite rumors chapter 7 has not been lifted.
The UN General Assembly which is meeting now cannot lift chapter 7. Only the UNSC can do this. Statements to the contrary are from the misinformed.
We are encouraged that the statements from Iraq continue positive around the key issues but we continue to look for concrete evidence that these issues are settled and executed upon. Until then we wait and see.
We have been of the opinion around $1 is the ceiling for the initial rate and it possibly could be lower and worked up to $1 over some time.

Baghdad: Euphrates News: congratulated the religious authority, Sheikh Ishaq Fayad, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on his safe return of therapeutic journey in Germany.
A statement from the Information Office of the Presidency of the Republic received the Euphrates News Agency {} a copy of it today that "President Jalal Talabani had received a phone call Wednesday from religious authority, Sheikh Mohammed Ishaq Al-Fayad congratulated Talabani on his safe return from his trip therapeutic in Germany."
He added that "Sheikh Fayad through during the call was pleased successfully surgery to His Excellency in his left knee," hoping "him good health and success in completing his fateful and national leadership of Iraq."

Nijaifi stresses importance of CBI's independence
Wednesday, 26 September 2012 22:59 Baghdad (AIN) : The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Osama al-Nijaifi, stressed the importance of the Central Bank of Iraq's independence as well as supervising the daily bids for the foreign currency conducted by the CBI because it serves to control the price and value of the Iraqi currency. A statement by Nijaifi's office cited Wednesday "Nijaifi received the head of the Financial Auditory Department, Abdul Basit Turkee and discussed with him the policy of the CBI." Allawi surprising his presence to discuss infrastructure

The President said the central organ for standardization and quality control of Saad Abdel Wahab/JD/device signed a contract with the final Danish Controle probe with pub company behind German and Swiss kontkta company sign for technical reasons.

Qtel telecommunications expects growth in revenues from Iraq during the next period

Baghdad/JD: Expect Qatar Telecom (Qtel) revenue growth in the period ahead because their share of asiacell.
The company said in a report published online by the site seen by agency/JD/it will make public its interim financial statements for the period ended 30/9/2012, Sunday, 21 December 2012.
The company had earlier announced the audited financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2012, a net profit of 1.3 billion QR QR 1.5 billion compared to the same period in 2008 registered a decline in profits amounted to 13.3%.
Per share (EPS) amounted to QR 4.92 in the first half of the year (2012) for 5.83 Qar for the same period in 2008.

Iraq, Jordan to Build Oil Pipeline

Iraq and Jordan have agreed to build a pipeline to supply Jordan with crude oil and natural gas, according to Petra, the Jordan News Agency.
Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Karim Luaibi [Elaibi] said that the pipeline would carry crude oil to the Jordanian refinery in Zarqa for use in Jordan, and to the port of Aqaba for export.
The agency quotes an Iraqi official as saying that authorities in Baghdad have already signed a contract with an international consultant company to prepare a report on the project, which has a planned capacity of 1 million bpd.
Central Bank's (people): Currency will not be replaced during 2013

Khaled al-Haidari Baghdad: Iraqi Central Bank announced that the currency will not be replaced during the coming period, not even through 2013.
The deputy governor of the Central Bank of the appearance of Mohammed Saleh told (people) that the process of replacing the currency and raise zeros it needs major work, and within the business associated with the replacement of the currency to start restricting the books calculations for the fiscal year, and this did not happen in the books of 2013, so it will not be Switch currency over the next year and I am confident to do so.

US Special Forces Deployed in Iraq, Again

Despite the official US military withdrawal last December, American special forces "recently" returned to Iraq on a counter-terrorism mission, according to an American general in charge of weapons sales there. The mission was reported by the New York Times, in the fifteenth paragraph of a story about deepening sectarian divides.
The irony is that the US is protecting a pro-Iran Shiite regime in Baghdad against a Sunni-based insurgency while at the same time supporting a Sunni-led movement against the Iran-backed dictatorship in Syria. The Sunni rebellions are occurring in the vast Sunni region between northwestern Iraq and southern Syria where borders are porous.
During the Iraq War, many Iraqi insurgents from Anbar and Diyala provinces took sanctuary in Sunni areas of Syria. Now they are turning their weapons on two targets, the al-Malaki government in Baghdad and the Assad regime in Damascus.
