Episcopal Home Sunday, August 5
Mark your calendars!
The Episcopal Home Mission Sunday
is right around the corner.
On Sunday, August 5, 2018, we will be celebrating The Episcopal Home Mission Sunday as a diocese. This celebration comes at a perfect time since most of us travel away from home! It is nice to get away, but it is also wonderful to have a place to which we can return.
Unfortunately, many older Pennsylvanians aren’t able to experience this same luxury. As the seniors in our community are living longer, they begin to outlive their savings. The upkeep of their home, medication management, health care coordination, and transportation can all become huge burdens.
With support from our parishes, The Episcopal Home gives up to 32 residents a safe, independent living community. No individual parish can take on the costs of this mission alone. We need to work together in this shared mission to provide the dignity and care the elderly in our community need.
We encourage you all to celebrate this mission on Sunday, August 5 with us. A few ways you can celebrate are filling in prayers or wishes to the residents on one of the postcards located in your parish hall or pew, reading the special Prayers of the People, adding your picture to our collage at bit.ly/eh-woven , and donating to The Episcopal Home at bit.ly/eh-donate . Thank you for supporting this important mission!
