Do you want to learn more about your faith? Are you interested in exploring ordained ministry? Come to the open house that follows orientation. Enjoy some food, and talk with current and former students. Auditors and full-time students are welcome. The semester begins on Saturday, September 1 with orientation on Saturday, August 25. The Rev. Cn. Allisyn Thomas, rector, welcomes questions about the school, discernment, classes and auditing.


45th Annual Diocesan Convention
Friday - Saturday, November 9 - 10
Register today for the annual diocesan convention, which takes place at St. Dunstan's, 6556 Park Ridge Blvd., San Diego. Earlybird rates of $65 per person are in effect until August 31. Regular registration is $75 until October 15. Late registration is $85 until November 2.

Submit Resolutions by October 1
All resolutions for the 45th Annual Diocesan Convention are due by October 1. Submit your resolution online. Proposed canonical changes are due by August 15.

Our diocese has not reserved a block of rooms for this convention, however, you may view a list of hotels we have compiled, including distance from St. Dunstan's, the location of convention, the regular room rate, and a link to their website.

79th General Convention Summary
During the General Convention, our church voted to welcome the Episcopal Diocese of Cuba into the fold. We established a three-year lift on the statute of limitations for reports of misconduct. We sent a strong message about immigration reform with our words and actions. We memorialized the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. We celebrated diversity, women's voices, and the movement of the Spirit.

Ixtacapa Youth Fundraiser Dinner

Please join our diocesan youth for a barbecue dinner and hear stories of their time in Guatemala this summer. Proceeds will fund computers, WiFi and printers for the tutoring room in the village of Ixtacapa, where our youth served the people. $25 per adult, $10 per child 12 and under.

Eucharistic Visitor Training

Take the Eucharist to disciples at home. This one-day training will teach you the art and history of Eucharistic Visiting. It is required to be licensed by the diocese.

Family Movie Night

Join your Cathedral family for food, fun and film-watching as we gather to explore the important spiritual themes of the movie, Moana. There will be a food truck (Quick Stop Grill), activities and plenty of time for people of all ages to get together and enjoy one another’s company.

Godspell Refugee Benefit Performance
Friday, September 7, 7 p.m.

St. Luke's, North Park is proud to present a special one-night performance of the musical Godspell as its inaugural St. Luke's Refugee Benefit Performance at St. Paul's Cathedral. All proceeds benefit St. Luke's job development work with the Sudanese and Congolese refugees. Ticket purchase includes a $50 tax-deductible donation to St. Luke's.

How2charist: a digitally instructed Eucharist
How2charist is a video series with animated informative text describing the Eucharist and what it means. We hope this will be available to congregations for educational purposes. Support the project's Kickstarter campaign or join the Facebook page to track its progress. The goal is to film in August and release the final this November.
