A Lowell Film Premiere presented by the 119 Gallery with support from the
Lowell Film Collaborative

Special Guest: Director Davy Chou

Discover the unknown history of the birth and destruction of Cambodian cinema, from the first film ever made in 1960 to the arrival of the Khmer Rouge in 1975. About 400 films were produced in this 15-year period -- only 30 films remain today.

Almost all of the country's actors were killed during the deadly regime and only a few directors were able to flee the country. Hear the compelling, untold stories of these few survivors as they attempt to revive the myths and legends of Cambodia's lost cinema.

Traveling to the area from his home in France, director Davy Chou is the grandson of renowned Cambodian film producer Van Chann -- hear Chou's own personal stories as we welcome him to the Lowell premiere of his groundbreaking film.
