Concecrated Steward: Partner in Discipleship
This spring Immanuel’s leadership is reminding us of the meaning of stewardship through Consecrated Steward: Partner in Discipleship. This includes the opportunity to make commitments to partner with Immanuel in doing the Lord’s work and celebrating our efforts, anticipating what God will do with them.

You are encouraged to make your commitment to partner with Immanuel using your time, your talent, and your treasure; all of which further His command to “Go and make disciples.” Matt. 28:19. After praying for guidance, complete this commitment card or reply confidentially online here .

You are invited to worship with your Immanuel family on Celebration Sunday, May 6 at 9 AM. This is the only service that day and it will be a celebration of God’s abundant blessings that will include the opportunity to present commitments for those who have not already done so. There will be a traditional worship service on Sat. at 5:30 PM, during which commitments may also be presented.

The Sunday Celebration Service will be followed by brunch, music, and fellowship and will conclude with an announcement of the total commitments for the year to come. Please return the RSVP card to the church office or RSVP online by May 1 to enable our planning.

Thank you for your commitment to sharing Jesus Christ with others through your support of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.
Retirement Announced
It is with warm wishes and prayers for God's blessings upon Manny Gutwein that we announce his upcoming retirement at the end of the current school year.

Manny joined Immanuel Lutheran School as seventh grade teacher in 2008 and has 39 years teaching experience. He teaches middle school science and religion classes. When not involved at school, he can be found model railroading, woodworking, and driving a charter bus. He has been instrumental in planning class trips to St. Louis, Springfield, and Washington DC. Manny has said that his "years at Immanuel include some memorable occasions in the science lab...
dissecting a cow heart, science fairs, bowling for momentum, food labs, and ScienceWorld games. Most importantly, I treasure the time I spend with middle school students working together studying God's word, seeing His plan throughout history, and recognizing how the Holy Spirit helps us live that plan today and in the future."
Mr. Gutwein will be dearly missed, yet Immanuel is happy for him as he looks forward to enjoying a new time in his life. A Call Committee has been formed as plans develop for staffing needs. More information will be forthcoming as to how Immanuel will celebrate his many years of service in ministry.

Please remember to save your treasures or leftovers for the annual Immanuel Garage Sale, Jul. 19-21. Items will be accepted for the sale beginning Fri., Jun. 22 later in the afternoon, after Vacation Bible School volunteers have had a chance to clean up from that huge ministry event.

Non-Public School Scholarship Applications
Empower Illinois is excited to announce that scholarship award emails have begun going out and will continue to be sent each week on Mondays.

The demand for these scholarships has been made abundantly clear. Empower Illinois received 48,000 applications for scholarships from children in every part of the state. While they recognize that they have more applicants than dollars, they continue to fundraise and advocate for this program. This incredible demand represents an opportunity to further grow the program, but only with the support of Illinois legislators. Let your local lawmakers know this program is important to you.
