Celebration Weekend is Here!
Worship with your Immanuel family on Celebration Sunday, May 6 at 9 AM. This is the only service that day and it will be a celebration of God’s abundant blessings that will include the opportunity to present commitments for those who have not already done so. There will be a traditional worship service on Sat. at 5:30 PM, during which commitments may also be presented.

The Sunday Celebration Service will be followed by brunch, music, and fellowship and will conclude with an announcement of the total commitments for the year to come.

Thank you for your commitment to sharing Jesus Christ with others through your support of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.

Retirement Announced
It is with warm wishes and prayers for God's blessings upon Terri Holmes that we announce her upcoming retirement at the end of the current school year.

After an early career working with troubled children at an in-patient care facility, Terri joined Immanuel as assistant in the fours preschool classroom. Following the departure of the classroom teacher, Terri accepted the promotion to fill the vacancy and has been graciously serving our preschool students and their families ever since. Her thoughtful teaching and caring nature have blessed the preschool ministry at Immanuel. Terri is also an Immanuel Stephen Minister and has been a regular participant in many Bible studies as both leader and student.

Terri shared the following quote in August 2013 on the occasion of her twentieth anniversary at ILCS. "Two phrases come to mind when reflecting back on twenty years of service here at Immanuel. 'Time flies when you’re having fun,' and 'Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.' A few weeks ago, after leaving the classroom and walking into an empty parking lot I noticed a car parking right beside mine. Approaching the car to see if they needed anything, it became obvious to me it was a student driver. The parent recognized me and said, 'Hey, Mrs. Holmes, remember Nick? He’s driving now!' Boy, did I feel old! It continues to be a great joy to see children excited about Jesus and learning. God has truly blessed my life through the children, families, and staff of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. Thank You!"

Mrs. Holmes will be dearly missed, yet Immanuel is happy for her as she looks forward to enjoying a new time in her life. More information will be forthcoming as to how Immanuel will celebrate her many years of service in ministry.
A Call Committee has been formed and interviews are being scheduled. Please be assured that God has Immanuel in His hands and will work these changes into the very best for all concerned. The administration will share the new staffing plan as soon as final decisions have been confirmed.

Garage Sale News
JUL. 19-22
Are you getting ready for the Batavia City Wide Garage Sale next weekend...or spring cleaning amidst the snow? Please remember to save your treasures or leftovers for the annual Immanuel Garage Sale, Jul. 19-21. Items will be accepted for the sale beginning Fri., Jun. 22 later in the afternoon, after Vacation Bible School volunteers have had a chance to clean up from that huge ministry event.

Please member that we cannot accept any televisions, cribs, mattresses, computers, paints, or chemicals. Also, if the item is broken, badly stained, or not wearable, please do not donate it.

New features this year include the chance to earn early shopping privileges by volunteering at least eight hours before, during, or after the sale. It takes a village to put on a sale of this size--please consider how you can help!

Immanuel holds this sale every year for many reasons, but a huge reason is that it is such a great resource for so many in our community.

To volunteer or to learn more, contact Cindy Rueffer (312 550 3199 or ruefit@msn.com).
