DiscoverU is around the corner! Are you ready to participate?

It's almost here! DiscoverU, a week for students of all ages across Seattle and South King County to explore their college and career options, is next week -- Oct. 12 to 16. As part of DiscoverU, students will learn about educators' college and career paths, see teachers and staff showing school pride by sporting college gear, and participate in fun activities that will encourage them to explore their futures.

But DiscoverU isn't limited to schools. Businesses, colleges, community-based organizations, libraries, city governments, community members and families are invited to join DiscoverU and put college and career in the spotlight!

Everyone in our community can share their college and career pathways through the power of social media. Show your support for college and career exploration by taking the DiscoverU pledge and help inspire new dreams among students by posting a college or career selfie! Here's how:
  • Take a college- or career-themed selfie and post on social media with the #DiscoverU hashtag. Click here for a selfie "how-to." Email or tweet at your friends and family in other careers to post a photo, too! Be sure to follow @roadmap2college on Twitter and on Facebook at facebook.com/roadmaptocollege to watch DiscoverU unfold.

  • Take the DiscoverU pledge! More than 100 people and organizations have pledged to participate -- join us! Click here to see a full list of participants.
If you work with young people from pre-K through college, much more information and inspiration can be found at roadmaptocollege.org/discoveru/educators. We look forward to seeing your DiscoverU spirit next week!
