President's Corner
Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a fantastic Winter Break. It is hard to believe we are half way through this year. As you can see from the calendar, there are plenty more activities and events to keep us busy. Thank you to each and every family for all the ways you have shown your support for Discovery School so far this year. While we continue to focus on serving students passionately for the duration of the year, the PTA will also be spending the next two months putting together a list of nominees for the 2017-2018 Executive Board and looking for parents who are interested in serving as committee chairs for next school year. If you are interested in more information, please contact our volunteer chair, Amanda Moore at [email protected]

SPRING BOOKFAIR!

Happy Camper Book Fair - S'more fun with books!

Prepare to have an adventure in the great outdoors with BOOKS!   You'll be able to explore lots of new titles during our Spring Book Fair February 6 th-10 th.

The book fair will be open Monday the 6th through Thursday the 9th, 8:30am-5:00pm, and on Friday the 10 th we will open at 8:30am and close and pack up the fair at 3:30pm. We are also excited to be partnering with PTA and staying open late on Thursday before, during, and after our quarterly PTA meeting and the Kindergartener's first musical performance!

We need parent volunteers to make our book fair the best it can be! We have opportunities to help with setup, take down, running registers, assisting shoppers, and donating items. For more information about volunteering click here: https://volunteer.scholastic.com/#/signup/AYa9TAc4e

Look for more information to come home with your child in a couple of weeks. We can't wait to see you at the book fair!

GUIDENCE NEWS

Accidents happen, and our student population is not immune to them; so our clothes closet is running low on clothing items that could really help a student get through a tough day! If you have various kids' size stretchy leggings, jogging pants, sweat pants, warm-up pants..anything with elastic waists that would fit a variety of sizes/shapes, please consider donating them to our clothes closet. On the wish list packs of NEW underwear for boys and girls. THANK YOU for helping our school community in this way!
