Will you Boohoo or Yahoo?
 
Join us for the PTA's annual Boohoo/Yahoo breakfast hosted by our 1st grade parents.
 
Monday, August 14th at 7:45 in the cafeteria.
 
We welcome all the parents of our new Kindergarteners to come by after dropping your children off for their first full day of school. This will be a time to socialize with experienced Discovery school parents; share your tears, fears and cheers; and enjoy a light breakfast/ coffee. Younger siblings are welcome to join. We hope to see you there!

SMART CARD SALES
Be on the look out; Smart Cards go home the 1st 1/2 day of school. Check out upcoming events for turn in dates. Volunteers are needed to help process the smart cards as orders come in. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and its success is dependent on the support of our Discovery School Families.

BETA CLUB

School Successes
The Discovery School is proud to announce that its Beta Club team, in its first year of competition, placed 3rd in the National Beta Club Competition in Advertising Design, 2nd on the Quiz Bowl written exam and placed in the top 10 overall in Quiz Bowl, placed top 10 nationally in Mathematics, and had a strong showing in Poetry and Woodworking under the guidance of Dr. Kristy Mall and Jason Page.  The 4th and 5th graders qualified for the National Beta Competition after earning top three wins at the state level in Advertising Design, Quiz Bowl, Poetry, Mathematics, Woodworking, and Photography, and was proud to represent Tennessee at the National Competition at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
