Good morning everyone...

It has been really good to be able to spend some quality time with Tanner and Haley over the last week and a half. Tanner has been home for a brief visit before he heads back to school in Missouri on the 16th. It has done my heart good to have them in the same place for this short time. As my children are getting older I find that I just enjoy conversation with them so much.

Each of my kids has a unique personality. I can see a little bit of me in my kids... a little bit of their mom.  Each has strengths and weaknesses.  Each has talents and passions, frustrations and concerns.

As my kids become more and more independent, I am reminded that parenthood is more than just making sure physical needs are taken care of. It is more than just making sure they do their homework and get to soccer and dance.  As parents we assist our children in the process of becoming adults one day. We assist them in becoming who God intends them to be.  And we have more influence on them than we might think or even sometimes know.

Over the next three weeks we are going to look at some practical advice for parenting.  That being said, if you don't have kids, or if your kids have grown and are now out on their own, I believe you will still be able to glean something to assist you in your own journey.  We will be looking at wisdom from the Bible. And who doesn't need more wisdom?

I hope you will join us for this three week series we are calling NOW & THEN. There are several ways you can read that title. All will apply at some point in the series.

This will be a great series for you to invite your friends... and I think it will help all of us as we prepare for the Fall. Its just around the corner.

Infertility Support Group

Approximately 6-10% of married couples are infertile, meaning that they can't get or stay pregnant.  This statistic affects Christians and churchgoers, too. Infertility is lonely. If you find yourself in this group, we want you to know that you are loved and you are not alone.  Please consider joining our private group where frustration is met with friendship. If you think that you may benefit from hearing about similar experiences, sharing medical information, or being reminded that you are important apart from being someone's mom or dad, please contact Debbie Harrington or send her a private Facebook message.
