Good morning...

I am writing to you from Chicago. My family and I will be returning home later today after spending some vacation time here. Chicago is an interesting city to visit in the summer. Lots of tourists   mixed in with people that are just going about their daily routines.

While I have been wearing shorts and t-shirts and flip flops most of the week... with tennis shoes mixed in for days that require a bit more walking... a good deal of the men walking up and down   the streets of the Windy City are wearing suits and wingtips. While I am more interested in taking my time and catching some of the sights and museums, so many people are in a hurry to make a   meeting or to get something accomplished. Its an interesting mix. One world intersecting with another.

This Sunday I will be back with you, I will be sharing a message about a well dressed man that encountered Jesus. And I want us to try and put ourselves in this man's shoes as we walk through the story.   Now m ost of us won't have to try hard to put ourselves in his shoes... for many of us his shoes are comfortable. They are the shoes we wear most of the time.  The story is one of my favorite interactions that Jesus has. It always strikes me in a certain way.

I also want to encourage you to bring some extra shoes to church with you own Sunday to donate to Soles4Souls. We have collected around 300 pair so far... and I'm pretty sure we can do better. Some of   you have more than that in your closet!  Seriously, please consider bringing more shoes this week. Ask around if you have already given all of yours away. We want to make a difference in the lives   of those who could use some help.

Lastly, please do not forget to walk in your own shoes this summer. Sunday, July 23rd is just a little more than a week away... and we want everyone to spend some real quality time walking with God in a   unique way that Sunday. Please make sure you register yourself for Pathway Sunday (see below for more details). As a reminder, we will not be having regular services next week... and you will   need to select a pathway in order to participate.

I look forward to worshipping with everyone this Sunday. Nothing is better than walking with Jesus.

Soles4Souls Shoe Donation
Sundays, Through July 30th
As we put ourselves in the shoes of people that encountered Jesus, we are also collecting some of your shoes for the organization Soles4Souls. They will use your donation to help provide relief and sustainable jobs around the world in places like Haiti, Honduras, and parts of Africa.  Drop off your new or used shoes in the box in our lobby, and we'll get them into the right hands...or, I guess, onto the right feet. Please contact Todd Ransom for additional information or questions.
Pathway Sunday (No regular Services)

Nick Ranjan .
Infertility Support Group

If you find yourself in this group, we want you to know that you are loved and you are not alone.  Please consider joining our private group where frustration is met with friendship. If you think that you may benefit from hearing about similar experiences, sharing medical information, or being reminded that you are important apart from being someone's mom or dad, please contact Debbie Harrington or send her a private Facebook message.
