In the next couple of weeks, students at Discovery, along with incredible volunteers, are heading out to CIY Mix & CIY Move.  Christ in Youth, CIY, is a world-renowned organization that is sold out for students become disciple makers. The flagship of CIY are week-long summer camps that happen all across the country, with thousands of middle school and high school students, loud and engaging music, and just completely crazy games. It is a week where not a lot of sleep happens, but a lot of life change does.

I know there are so many stories around Discovery about how great CIY is and the crazy unexpected things that happen for example the pictures of me in a penguin outfit forever memorialized in digital photography:

But what if the greatest thing about CIY, the entire reason why we go, could start before we even get on the bus or last longer than a week? The entire reason why CIY is so great is that we focus on a single thing all week long, Jesus. Yes, Jesus. The entire reason why CIY is so great is that students are spending time interacting, exploring, and diving into a relationship with God. That experience can start now. So if you have a student I have a challenge for you, but even if you do not I have a challenge for you.

Can I ask you to invest and pray big prayers for our students? We know that God can do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine in the lives of these students, so will partner with us and invest in these students by praying? Pray for safety, for conversations, for the games, for worship, for the caffeine-fueled leaders, and for the students.

Current Series - At The Movies: Superheroes
This Sunday - Spiderman

Fifteen years ago, Discovery started in a Movie Theater, and years later we still can't shake our love for film. Every year, we pay homage to those early days by looking at some of the biggest or the best movies of the year, the stories they tell, and our stories alongside the story of God. This year we're focusing on the Superhero universes, finding important biblical truths in those epic conflicts and heroic characters.

Summer Study for Women
Lessons in Gentleness
Begins June 28  *  7PM

Being gentle is not being weak.  It is intentional, it is holding your tongue sometimes, it is doing that good thing that you don't feel like doing.  It takes strength.  We all have a gentle streak in us, but it must be cultivated.  We will study stories of individuals who were gentle in un-gentle circumstances.  We will meet on Thursdays from 7-8:30 PM through August 16th at Venango Trails (near the RLA). Fun childcare will be provided.  Please mark your "flap" on Sunday if interested. Questions? Contact Debbie Harrington. Bring a Bible and a friend.
Discovery Camping Trip                                Thursday, July 26 - Saturday, July 28

here by Friday, July 15th to reserve your site; sites are reserved in the order of payment. Questions? Please contact Doreen George .

Contact Debbie Harrington at for details.
