Good afternoon!

This Sunday is Father's Day and over the last few years at Discovery that has meant one thing... BACON! Traditional Bacon, Jalapeno Bacon, Chocolate Covered Bacon, Maple Bacon... all kinds of BACON!

This year we have decided to think outside the pan! We will be stepping up our bacon game and adding other smoked, roasted, fried, and grilled meats to our already stacked bacon menu! We will have 'meat-atizers' from South Africa to South Carolina! This Sunday at Discovery... WE HAVE THE MEATS!

We hope you will join us as we honor dads, grandads, and father figures! We will be continuing our Minor League series and will be giving away some more obscure Minor League baseball hats. This Sunday we will be taking a look at the Minor Prophet Micah... who describes what a real man of God is supposed to look like.

So invite your dad, your friends and your friend's dad to come with you to Discovery this week!  Come early and get your fill of protein, grease, and a glass of bubbling root beer straight from the keg. You don't want to miss the celebration!

Pathway Sunday (No regular Service)
Sunday, July 23
There are 7 Spiritual Pathways that have been identified through which we most naturally sense God's presence and experience spiritual growth. On Sunday, July 23rd, we are going to use our regular gathering time to give you an opportunity to engage with one of these pathways.  Please take a look at our web page for a description of the 7 different pathways and corresponding activities.  Then register for your pathway you would like to attend. Once you have registered for one of the pathways, you will receive an email from the contact for that pathway with more details.  You don't want to miss out on this meaningful Sunday!
Summer Study for Women
Wednesdays  *  7 PM

Daniel kept a detailed journal during a time when God's people were in captivity.  This book helps us answer questions he had and we have: How is God faithful to his people? How can we be faithful to God, both personally and politically?  And what difference does it make?  We will meet on Wednesdays this summer through July 19th, from 7-8:30 pm, at the home of Debbie Harrington.  Bring a Bible and a friend.  To sign up, mark your "flap" on Sunday or contact Debbie Harrington if you have questions.
Summer Bible Study for Men
Beginning This Tuesday, June 20  *  7 PM

Who says women are the only ones to have all the fun?  This summer the we will also be tackling the book of Daniel.  It's about keeping your identity despite all kinds of pressures in your environment.  From home life to workplace to the larger political or cultural atmosphere, Daniel shows us how to maintain our identity and faithfulness despite anything around us pushing us in every other direction. Discovery on Mission
One of the main goals of Journey Groups is to serve together to connect more and more people with Jesus.  Sometimes we say, we want to MOVE together.  While all Journey Groups engage in serving, this group is highly committed to consistently helping others throughout our community.  Each month we'll engage in different projects and objectives to serve others throughout the year in local missions each week.  If you would like to be a part of this group mark your "flap" on Sunday or if you have questions, please contact
Nick Ranjan .
Infertility Support Group
Approximately 6-10% of married couples are infertile, meaning that they can't get or stay pregnant.  This statistic affects Christians and churchgoers, too. Infertility is lonely. If you find yourself in this group, we want you to know that you are loved and you are not alone.  Please consider joining our private group where frustration is met with friendship. If you think that you may benefit from hearing about similar experiences, sharing medical information, or being reminded that you are important apart from being someone's mom or dad, please contact Debbie Harrington or send her a private Facebook message.
Prayer Requests
If you have a prayer request that you would like the prayer team to pray for,  please mark the "flap" on Sunday or email your request. Let us know f you would like your request to remain anonymous.  If you would like to be added to the list of people who receives and prays for requests each week, please email us and we will add you to the prayer updates.
