Hey everyone!
I hope for all of you that have started school this week that it has been full of joy. I know that the first week of classes can heap a lot on to your plate pretty quickly, but remember that Christ will not abandon you, even in your moments of stress. Also, as you start to tackle your assignments and jumping back into relationships with your friends, keep in mind 1 Corinthians 10:31b that says,
"whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Come to Riot this Sunday for the Back-to-School Tailgate Party from 6:30 - 8 PM at the Family Retreat Center! Make sure to show your team spirit by dressing up. There may even be some prizes for the most team-spirited! Make sure you bring a bathing suit, towel, and change of clothes too, 'cause we're having a slip n slide! Heck yeah! Come hang out and bring your friends!
Also, make sure to ask your parents and to register for the Fall Retreat which is quickly approaching at the end of September! This years theme, BRING IT!, will be awesome. Make sure to invite some friends too!

Kingdom Work Challenge: Week 9
Start a piggy bank (it doesn't have to be a piggy). This year save your change for a mission your church supports. One year from today give it to that mission! Ask your youth minister if you need information about missions your church supports.

Back-to-School Tailgate Party Sunday, August 30th // 6:30 - 8:00 PM
A high school only (9th-12th grade) event happening at the Family Retreat Center. We will be having a good ol' fashioned barbeque, along with tons of games and even some prizes to be won! Bring a snack to share and invite a friend to close out a great summer with tons of fun. Make sure to wear your favorite teams clothes and don't be afraid to go all out (there may be a prize for it, even)! Also, bring your swimsuit and towel because we'll be having a Slip N Slide too!

Fall Retreat at Teenquest Ranch - BRING IT!
Friday, September 25th - Sunday, September 27th
The weekend will include the 140-acre property on Teenquest Ranch that offers tons of activities and entertainment in addition to building relationships with people you already know and meeting some new friends! You will have opportunities to grow in your relationship with God and remove the distractions of your everyday life while discussing the theme for the weekend: "BRING IT!"
Activities include paintball, rock wall, bikes, volleyball, basketball, horse rides, go-karts, fishing, corn maze, and more! We strongly encourage you to invite a friend to join you for the weekend.

| Riot Offering
Every week we receive an offering as a continuation of our worship to God...giving back to him a portion of what he has given to us. As our guests, we ask that you not put anything in the bucket...this act of worship is reserved for those of us who call Discovery our home.
All contributions will go directly to Discovery Christian Church and help support our missionaries in El Salvador.
