Serving West Sacramento & Clarksburg

  Oscar Villegas
 Yolo County Supervisor
 District 1
September 2015
Note From Oscar:
Greetings,
As we enter into the month of September, there are numerous signs that denote we are in the season of change.  The children have returned to school, the weather is cooler in the evening, and we just celebrated Labor Day.  I want to acknowledge the Yolo County staff who work tirelessly at their respective jobs to serve the residents of our county.  It's a pleasure to work with so many people who clearly love their job.  Last month, I had the pleasure to attend the Yolo County Fair Gala, participated in the Backpack for Kids giveaway at the Yolo County Children's Alliance, attended the Delta Counties Coalition Tour whereby federal, state and local officials of neighboring counties visited the Delta by boat to learn about issues facing the Delta.  I presented to the Mighty Rotary Club of West Sacramento, and attended the West Sacramento Chamber's Dig-In Dinner featuring Senator Richard Pan and Patrick Mulvaney.   I also represented the county of the first meeting of the "Yolo Bypass Partnership.  This month there are many exciting activities happening in our District. The Clarksburg Friends of the Library will be hosting their fundraiser, the o pening of the new Culinary Arts and Farm to Fork Education (CAFFE) program for the Washington Unified School District, and the first graduation for the West Sacramento Day Reporting Center will take place.  See links below to these and other newsworthy items.
