begins Monday morning
EL PASO - Installation of underground utility and stormwater infrastructure will require the closure of Wedgewood Drive near Montwood for approximately eight weeks beginning later this month.
IMPACT TO DRIVERS
Wedgewood will be closed immediately north of Montwood beginning on Monday, October 27, 2014. Northbound and southbound motorists will be required to follow marked detour routes on Montwood, McRae Boulevard, and Album Avenue. (See attached map.)
As a result of the construction, Sun Metro will be required to detour Route 52. Sun Metro drivers will make courtesy stops along the detoured route as required. This detour is subject to change depending on traffic.
Buses traveling outbound, north on Wedgewood, will turn left onto Montwood, right onto Camwood, left onto Wedgewood returning to the regular route. Buses traveling inbound, south on Wedgewood, will turn right onto Honolulu, right onto Ceylon, left onto Bermuda, right onto McRae, left onto Glengarry, left onto Berwick, right onto McRae, left onto Montwood, right onto Wedgewood returning to the regular route.
The Reconstruction of Montwood Drive will improve street and drainage infrascture while providing landscaping, irrigation, new sidewalks, and ADA-compliant ramps.
The detours will remain in place through December. The 24-month project is expected to be completed in February 2015.
