Worship this week, August 18th at 10:00am
|
Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Do We Have To Go To Church?" based on Luke 12.49-56. Did Jesus have "bad days"? He must have, because one day he said, "Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!" He went on to say that father will be against son and daughter against mother and vice versa. Then he said everyone was a hypocrite and nobody understood the "present time," that is, what's important now. We'll wrestle with Jesus' harsh words by asking, do we have to go to church?

We need items for our Church Yard Sale! We are now accepting donations for the yard sale scheduled on Saturday, September 14th, 9:00am-2:00pm. It's the perfect time to clean out your home and de-clutter. If you have treasures to donate (we take about anything with some exceptions - see list in Fellowship Hall or online or call the office if you are unsure), drop them off at the church on Sunday mornings, or Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings (call the office first to be sure the doors are open during the week.) Remember, ALL proceeds go benefit the Youth Groups.
We also need volunteers to help with the yard sale. You can sign up online here.

This Week's Prayers for Morning and Evening
|
Morning
Lord of Life, I greet this new day sustained by the great cloud of witnesses who praise your name. Help me to lay aside any burden or distraction that might prevent me from fully serving you this day. Give me perseverance and joy so that I may come to the end of the day confident in your presence and aware of your blessings. Amen
Evening
God of Hope, confirm for me at the close of this day the fulfillment of your promise of provision. Release my concerns for things done and left undone. Grant me your peace so that I may rise refreshed to serve you with openness and love. Amen
