YOUTH PROGRAMS
We are in the midst of summer camp, one of our favorite times of year! This year, we welcome more than 70 children ages 7-13 to AWS for daily animal adventures and enriching field trips.

Each day, campers meet animals of all kinds! Here they are at Laudholm Farm at Wells Reserve, learning about creatures that make the estuary their home.
Youth Programs have moved! Find us at the Boston House, on the edge of AWS' campus. Our cool new classroom is bright, airy and has lots of space for discovery. We even have a family of rats chilling with us. As ambassadors, they are always ready to teach children about compassionate animal care. And they have lots of time for snuggles.

Soon, we'll be releasing our fall schedule with lots of great humane ed programs for half days and days off from school! Stay tuned!
FOSTER VOLUNTEERING
Are you looking for a way to help out? Right On! We have an opportunity for you! Consider being a foster family! We have many needs - short-term, long-term, puppies, kittens and more. Foster needs vary based on a number of factors, including time of year. You can foster once a year, twice a year, all the time, it's up to you!

We'd love to get you set in the wings for the next time a pet needs a place to crash. Your pad could be just the ticket!
CLEO FUND
With the opening of the Community Veterinary Clinic , we are able to serve the pets of Cumberland and York County residents needing spay/neuter surgeries right here at AWS. Thus, the Cleo Fund focuses on the rest of the state. Through the AWS/Cleo Fund, we partner with veterinarians in Maine's other 14 counties to provide vouchers to income-qualified pet owners to help defray the cost of spaying/neutering their pets. We now accept applications ONLINE the limited number of voucher we have available monthly. The application opens up the first business day of the month and remains online until the vouchers run out (usually mid-month, sometime earlier).
ADOPTION CENTER
If you haven't checked out our new Adoption Center, please do so! You'll want to see our cool meet and greet room. This new space provides potential adopters (and their dogs) with a nice setting to spend time with pets and get to know them.

You'll also notice the nice, sunny spot in the lobby where we house the cats who have been with us the longest. They are seen by everyone who visits and enjoy looking out the big windows into the cat garden (coming soon!). They also love the bird feeders, strategically placed just outside their windows!
When you're visiting, please stay and shop right in our lobby. The prices of our retail items are reasonable and all sales support animal care at AWS. From cat starter kits and carriers for those first-time feline families, to stylish leashes and collars for dogs, we have everything to keep your pet happy. And don't forget the humans - we offer a wide variety of cheerful t-shirts for grown-ups and children. They make great gifts!
We couldn't do all we do for the community without you and all our amazing supporters. Thank you for attending training classes , sending your kids to learn at AWS , shopping at our retail store, fostering pets in need , volunteering your time , supporting us with gifts , and of course, adopting your family pets from us .
