Legislator Birnbaum Meets with EAC Network
EAC Network's President & CEO, Lance W. Elder, and Senior Director of Senior & Nutritional Services , Carol O'Neill, r ecently met with Ellen W. Birnbaum, Nassau County Legislator, to discuss the plethora of programs and services that we provide in her Legislative District (10th) to help community members in need.
North Merrick Senior Center Gets Crafty!
Pat at our North Merrick Senior Center has thrived in the Center’s quilting class! Pat donates the quilts she makes to Good Samaritan Hospital. Isn’t her latest masterpiece beautiful? In addition to quilting, EAC Network's Senior Centers in North Merrick, Long Beach, Hempstead, and Port Washington provide older adults with a variety of activities, socialization, recreation, health promotion, educational programs, field trips, and congregate meals.
Students at John W. Dodd Middle School Become Peer Mediators
Our Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers ' Peer Mediation program teaches dedicated students mediation skills. Students learn about being impartial and fair, and at the end we recognize them by swearing them in as official mediators. Recently, ceremonies took place at Northern Parkway Elementary and John W. Dodd and Lawrence Road middle schools where they were sworn in by the Hon. Joy Watson. View more photos.

Administrative Office Hosts Informative Lunch & Learn to Inspire Health & Wellness
Thanks to a generous grant from Cigna, EAC Network offices have had funds to participate in various wellness activities. Recently, our administrative office hosted an informative lunch and learn for staff. Laura Zelenka-Dufresne, EAC Network's Registered Dietitian, presented on topics including the difference between lifestyle changes and diets and being aware of sugar and salt contents in food. Everyone learned a lot! Thank you, Cigna!
