We Welcome to Sunday Worship
June 3, 2018

We are pleased to welcome to worship this Sunday guest preacher, the Rev. Lisa Lancaster . Ms. Lancaster grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She pastored Hillsborough Presbyterian Church for four years. She then followed her call to specialized ministry, and worked as a chaplain in central New Jersey for 22 years, retiring in 2015. Lisa is a spiritual director and gives workshops and retreats. She lives in Millstone Township with her two furry children (cat and beagle), and is married to Rich Gudgel, a climate scientist.

Lisa's sermon topic is "A Path for Serenity," based on Matthew 6:25-34 .

In music this Sunday, we are also pleased to welcome guest musician, Justin Proffitt . Mr. Proffitt serves as an adjunct faculty member at The College of New Jersey and at Westminster Choir College, teaching piano secondary courses. In addition, he maintains an independent music studio in the Princeton, New Jersey area. His performing experience has ranged from solo piano recitals to various collaborative performances. A recipient of Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College, Justin continues to pursue his research interests by working toward a doctorate in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Common Threads Ministry
We're Taking A Summer Break

The Common Threads fellowship and ministry group is taking a break from gathering during the summer months. We will resume meeting after Kick-Off Sunday, September 9. If you need more information or have questions, please contact Dyanne Diaz-Piedra at (908) 439-2689 or Debby Johnson at (908) 832-7230 . Wishing all our happy knitters a safe and relaxing summer! See you in the fall!
Thank You!

Thanks to the church members and friends of the Lamington Black Cemetery who recently installed a sturdy, permanent railing beside the steps leading up to the cemetery! Pictured here is community volunteer Dr. Rich Johnson, taking a well-earned rest.

A number of people came out on Memorial Day morning for the informational talk on work that's planned for the Black Cemetery.

If you'd like to know more about these efforts, please contact Dave Smith.
The Rev. Nadia Ayoub
Mission Co-Worker

In worship last Sunday, we heard a Children's Moment and Minute for Mission by Presbyterian mission worker the Rev. Nadia Ayoub , a member of Elizabeth Presbytery. Nadia has recently finished up a multi-year assignment in Carpath-Ukraine, working with the Roma ("Gypsy") people, a minority that has been the victim of much racial prejudice.

Later this summer, Nadia will be traveling to Greece, where she will be working with an organization called Perichoresis, that ministers to refugees from Syria and other parts of the Middle East who have fled for their lives on small boats. Nadia is originally from Egypt, so she is fluent in Arabic and able to serve as an interpreter. Please pray for Nadia as she moves on to this next assignment.
