Next month, Muskegon will launch the area's first ever urban dog park. The off-leash park features fenced in areas for large dogs and small dogs. The PetSafe certified park will be equipped with water fountains, lounge areas, a community toy bin and onsite parking.

The goal is to create a community area where both dogs and humans can come together to socialize, bringing Muskegon one step closer to becoming a pet-friendly city. A Grand Opening will be held on May 12.
Work

Muskegon's business community continues to expand as a prime location for manufacturing. Wells Index , a Michigan-based company that builds machines for cutting and shaping metal, is no exception.

After 80 years in the business, Wells Index will be moving to a larger manufacturing space in Muskegon Heights, bringing more opportunities for employment to the area. The move is a win for Muskegon Heights, as the city works to "fill in the map and grow its business base," according to a recent news release.
Learn

It's official! The Lakeshore Fab Lab will be opening in Downtown Muskegon this June. The state-of-the-art entrepreneurial hub, supported and managed by Muskegon Community College, empowers people of all ages to learn, dream, design, and build their ideas.

The facility houses more than a half-million dollars' worth of equipment in a space where inventors can invent, businesses can prototype, and children can gain hands on experience with STEM-based projects. The innovative capabilities include 3D Printing, Laser Etching, Robotics, Metal Milling, Vinyl Printing, Digital Scanning, Routing and more. Membership will be open to the public.
Play

Play season is coming to its peak, and there is no better place to enjoy the warmer weather than P.J. Hoffmaster State Park .

Hoffmaster features over three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, a 297-site modern campground and towering Lake Michigan sand dunes.
