Results of the PTA Vote
Thank you to everyone who attended the Fine Arts Showcase/PTA Meeting last night! It was a wonderful evening celebrating the talents of our students.
At the PTA meeting, the general membership of the Dogwood PTA voted in favor of dissolving the Dogwood PTA charter. The results of the vote are as follows:
- 249 PTA members voted in favor of dissolving the PTA charter.
- 8 PTA members were not in favor of dissolving.
The motion required a 2/3 vote to pass. The motion carried with 97% of members voting in favor of dissolution.
In addition, 37 non-members voted in favor of dissolving the PTA charter and 1 non-member voted against dissolving the charter. 97% of all those voting (both members and non-members) voted in favor of dissolving our PTA charter.
We will begin operating as the Dogwood Elementary PTO immediately (see the new banner above!). We will continue to work to serve our students, teachers and families by enhancing and encouraging the educational environment at Dogwood.
Our first Dogwood PTO meeting will take place this Tuesday, February 6 at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. All parents are invited to attend!
