Please join Slow Food Sacramento for our annual membership meeting and potluck on Terra Madre Day at the new and improved Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. Their new Cooking School & Community Learning Center upstairs where we will gather is fabulous!
Our theme is Stone Soup - Back To the Earth. In the spirit of fostering community and believing in the power of breaking bread together, we are asking our members to please bring one of the following:
  • An item to add to the soup such as: pulses: cooked or soaked beans or lentils; raw vegetables like carrots, celery, onions, fennel, potatoes, mushrooms, kale or collards; whole grains like barley, quinoa, rice; fresh herbs, vegetable stock; OR
  • Salad; OR
  • Dessert
While Chef Brenda Ruiz performs soup magic in the kitchen, Terra Madre delegates Ed Roehr (Magpie and Nido), Chanowk Yisrael (Yisrael FamilyUrban Farms), Lisa Frank (Slow Beer), and Cinamon Vann (Snail of Approval coordinator) will share their photos, experiences, and thoughts from their September trip to to Turrin, Italy for Slow Food International's Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto's gathering of chefs, producers, and activists from 150-plus countries.
This is our annual General Membership meeting where we elect Board members. Proposed Board officers and Members are listed below. We have a fabulous slate. Come meet them and hear their ideas for 2017.
This is a no waste event, please bring your own place setting, including silverware, BOWLS, plates, glasses, napkins, and  beverage of choice.
