The Medal Preview is Here!
September 17, 2014

We have two huge announcements that can't wait until our next monthly newsletter.  First is the 2014 Medal Preview and the unveiling of our four year medal series.  We also bring you the web release of our short film "Because I Can", which has been screened throughout Indy.
These two announcements are sure to give you the extra motivation you need as we all begin final preparations for Saturday, November 1.
"Because I Can" Online Debut

After various sold-out showings and exciting screenings throughout Indianapolis in the month of August, we're ready to release our short film, "Because I Can" for viewing online.  A truly inspirational video that is sure to motivate you for all of your endeavors, even beyond running.  We hope you enjoy and share this remarkable film!

Four runners - different ages, different abilities, different motivations -  from the 2013 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon talk about the race and what inspires them to run. See how beautiful the course itself is and learn how this is an event in which everyone can participate.
Announcing Our Four Year Medal Series

We are thrilled to bring you a preview of what is sure to be an iconic piece of hardware in any Monumental Runner's collection: our four year medal series. Beginning in 2014, Monumental Marathon and Monumental Half Marathon finishers will receive stunning, three dimensional, high relief medals that are part of a four year series. Culminating with our tenth anniversary in 2017, Monumental runners who have finished the series will receive the red and white Star Medallion, signifying the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, while ten year finishers will in addition receive a commemorative"frame" that holds the series together to create the Flag of IndianapolisFour-year series finishers may also purchase the frame to display their medals as a set.

Medals of both the Marathon and Half Marathon races in the series are the same size/weight. No need to run the same distance each year! We're excited to kick off this series in 2014 featuring one of the highlighted monuments of our course, the Indiana War Memorial.
