Prof. Amos Guiora, International security expert discusses:

Did Israel Use Disproportionate Force in Gaza?

Professor Amos Guiora will address the question of Israel's use of force in Gaza at a talk sponsored by the Community Relations Committee on Sunday, November 2nd at 7:30 PM.  Guiora is highly qualified to answer this question. He served for 19 years in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Israel Defense Forces and is LT COL RET). During Operation Protective Edge this summer, Guiora was featured on the PBS News Hour and published an op-ed in The New York Times. He is also the author of several books including Global Perspectives on Counter terrorism and Legitimate Target: A Criteria-Based Approach to Targeted Killing.

Amos Guiora is Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for Global Justice at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, the University of Utah. Guiora is  a Research Associate at the University of Oxford, Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict; a Research Fellow at the International Institute on Counter-Terrorism, The Interdisciplinary Center, Herzylia, Israel; and a Corresponding Member, The Netherlands School of Human Rights Research, University of Utrecht School of Law.
