We are looking for artists to guide hands-on projects for our "Make It" holiday activity.  Creative ideas and examples can be sent to Jessica at   Admin@westvalleyarts.org  and must be received by November 15th.

Handcrafted Market: 
Submit three images or examples of work you would like to sell at our outdoor holiday market.  Submissions and questions can be sent to Jessica at   Admin@westvalleyarts.org   and must be received by November 15th.

Estrella Mountain Community College Presents the 1st Annual West Valley Noche de Mariachi Festival

Celebrate the rich history of Mariachi at the First Annual West Valley Noche de Mariachi at EMCC! A full night of live musical and dance performances by local, regional and national artists will benefit EMCC student scholarships. Herberger Theater Festival of the Arts

Join Herberger Theater for the eighth annual Festival of the Arts as we celebrate the arts in our community with performances by 25 arts groups, live music, aerials, activities for kids, pet adoptions, food, craft beer and wine tasting and more than 50 vendor and arts organization booths. This two-day event (formerly Sunday @ Shemer) will kick-off holiday shopping with more than 40 artists from all across Arizona showcasing one-of-a-kind works, plus demonstrating glass-blowing, blacksmithing and pottery-throwing)!  There will be children's art activities in an interactive $5 Kids Zone, live music, food & beverage vendors, a silent auction AND an evening "Meet the Artists" wine-tasting reception on Saturday!  A fun, family way to enjoy the art of Arizona AND benefit the non-profit Shemer Art Center!

38th Annual Bluegrass Festival & Fiddle Championship
$18.00 adults, $15 senior citizens, $10 children
Featured bands entertaining all three days at the festival are Wood & Wire, High Plains Tradition, and Dry Branch Fire Squad.  Additionally, contestants will compete in eight categories for prizes and cash awards. Some of the categories bring Championship designation, such as Fiddle, Mandolin, Flat Pick Guitar, and Banjo.
The festival is held outdoors at the Everett Bowman Rodeo Grounds, 935 Constellation Road, just 1/2 mile east of Highway 60/93 in Wickenburg. Limited reserved   self-contained RV   camping in Constellation Park is arranged through the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce, as well a limited spaces in the tent camping area.

Hidden in the Hills Studio Tours

Arizona's largest and longest-running artist studio tour and sale, Hidden In The Hills, will take place during the last two weekends of November, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 17, 18 & 19 and November 24, 25, and 26, 2017. A signature event of the non-profit Sonoran Arts League, Hidden In The Hills features 174 artists in 44 studio locations throughout the scenic Desert Foothills communities of Cave Creek, Carefree, and North Scottsdale.Bring along your friends and family to this once a year Northeast Valley studio tour featuring 174 working artists at 44 studios.

City of Surprise 2017 Mural Project - City Cashier Area of City Hall. 

The City of Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission is seeking artists or firms to create a mural for the Surprise City Hall cashier's area that represents the artist's interpretation of the White Tank Mountains.

Qualified artists and firms are invited to submit a Statement of Qualifications as part of the Request for Qualifications process, which is detailed on  www.surpriseaz.gov/arts

The deadline to submit is November 3, 2017, and the contract will be awarded December 6, 2017.

How do we tell our life story through art? For the Spanning the Generations Fine Art Show artist of all ages are asked to visually depict their life through their artwork.    The artwork can show the passing of time or represent a pinnacle defining moment. Artists will interpret the theme however they find it best represents their lifetime.  

-Open to all West Valley artists of any age. 
-Up to two submissions will be accepted. 
-Submittal should include application, waiver form, artist statement and digital images of  artwork.

Theme is open for your interpretation. Artists working in the following are invited to enter this juried show. Two dimensional art in oil, watercolor and acrylic, mixed media (including ink) and three dimensional art in clay, metal wood, gourd material, glass, and jewelry. No recycled art or photography for this show as future shows will include these media. Size limitation will be 40". Edges of wrapped canvas need to be clean but not necessarily painted. Canvas less than 1&3/8" deep needs to be framed. Awards will be given for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

37th Annual Governor's Arts Awards - Nominations are Now Open!

Nominations for the Governor's Arts Awards are accepted for about six weeks in the fall of each year. Nominees are announced in early winter, followed by a special reception in honor of all nominees; at which three finalists in each category are announced, along with the Philanthropist Award honoree and the Shelley Award honoree. The Governor's Arts Awards dinner is then held in late winter or early spring.

Desert Caballeros Western Museum - Visitor Services Manager

The Visitor Services Manager is responsible for ensuring all guests have the educational and entertaining experience DCWM values while helping meet revenue goals through ticket, membership, and retail sales. The VSM is the primary contact for Visitor Services Associates and Museum volunteers and works alongside them during hours the Museum is open to the public. Provides training, direction, coordination, and scheduling for all front-line functions of the Museum including Admissions, Museum stores, Gallery Guides and Cowgirl Up!. Directly supervises Visitor Services Associates. Actively recruits volunteers, matches them with appropriate functions in the Museum and evaluates performance regularly. Works closely with the Retail Operations Manager and Curator of Education to ensure consistent content and procedures across the Museum experience.
