End of Summer Cleaning

The summer is rolling before us, and next thing you know it will be Fall once again. While your family was busy with cookouts, family outings and the beach, it is easy to ignore the clutter building up in our homes. Here are some tips to get you back on track and keep your home tidy and neat!

-Don't let mold take over

In areas with high humidity, it is easy for mold to creep in around the dishwasher, washing machines and other nooks and crannies. Disinfect these areas with a citrus-based cleaner to ensure all mold and dust is wiped away for good.

-Let air circulate around the home

Open up windows and doors to allow air to circulate inside the house. During the fall and winter, this is a luxury we are not allowed and it is often ignored during the summer too. Fresh air does away with dust in the air, and brings in the sunny day.

-Keep safety first

If you have children in the home, make sure to show them how to properly handle cleaning products and keep them out of reach of toddlers. Store your cleaning supplies safely. While enjoying the summer, make sure to wash hands frequently to avoid viruses and sickness during the hot days.

 -Straighten your closets

De-clutter by removing items you no longer wear, or use. If you have the capacity, host a yard sale and you will be able to get rid of a lot of household items that have been taking up space in your home. The extra income will also be a special treat!

- Winterize your kitchen

Remove and clean all items on your kitchen shelves. Toss expired items in your pantry, and make space for new items. Check for ants or insects, and use antibacterial wipes on the counters to rid of all germs. Clean your refrigerator by removing each shelf and wiping away all grime. This task may be time consuming so make sure you put aside enough time to thoroughly clean and sweep away all spaces.

Staying Fit in the Comfort of your Home

Working out and staying in shape comes in a variety of forms. As the summer winds downs, and the cooler days approach, try yoga as a fun easy way to work out right in the comfort of your own home!

It is no wonder that yoga has become a hot trending topic. The exercise is easy to do, and has tremendous weight loss benefits. You can purchase a yoga mat for under $20 at a nearby local store. Set up the mat on a flat surface in your living or bedroom area. Begin with a breathing exercise to help release tension in your muscles. Stretch your legs, and arms to allow for better flexibility. Yoga basics are easy to find online, and easy to learn. For some tips to get you started, click on the following link:Yoga for Beginners
