The Young Advocates for Peace program is four day event running concurrently with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence's national conference. Children and youth of all ages, many of whom witnessed familial violence or have been victims of abuse themselves, join with their peers to learn skills and acquire tools to become activists to end violence in their lives and communities. This supportive and safe environment promotes understanding and empowers them to create social change. The program is attended by young people from all over the U.S. It will not only have a national impact, but as the youth mature, the lessons and skills they acquire via this program will make it more likely that they continue to work to stop violence in the home, community, and their own lives.Click here for more information.
