Come join us here at Kittery Art Association in our old renovated fire station where you'll be surrounded by paintings, sculpture and other works of art as you sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of young performers on our stage. 

The performance is held upstairs in a room with a vaulted ceiling and outstanding acoustics.   


Students are encouraged to come and sing, play guitar, piano or any instrument of their choice, perform a skit, juggle, do standup comedy, mime...anything goes on our stage! 

We provide a sound system, electric piano, guitar and bass amps, snacks and beverages.  No need to sign up in advance or call.

This fantastic event takes place at Kittery Art Association, 8 Coleman Ave., Kittery Point, ME

Mangion Memorial Poetry Celebration at the Kittery Art Association on Saturday, May 6th.   
 
The event will be hosted by former Portsmouth Poet Laureate Kimberly Cloutier Green, who will serve as the emcee for the afternoon interview and evening reading.  Read more here

As in past years, the walls will be covered - literally from floor to ceiling - with the wonderful creations of these students.  All are welcome.  The gallery will be open during regular hours through May 21st.

KAA En Plein Air 2017 Schedule

This year Lisa Alyson has plans for a sensational summer of Plein Air painting for KAA members starting June 1st (4-7pm) along our beautiful New England seacoast. 

If you are not yet a member and would like to sample an en Plein Air event before joining KAA, please come for one visit.  There is no instruction; all types of artists are welcome.

We meet on Thursday afternoons from 4 to 7

There are also two Demo's this year which have a fee of $20.00 for non-members and $15.00 for members:
1) Mary Byrom, oil painter, will be at the Hamilton House on June 15th

To cap the season off, there will be an en Plein Air all member show at KAA in October.

Volunteer Opportunities at KAA
Share your Skills and Expertise  

We're currently looking for volunteers who want to share their knowledge and expertise with other KAA members and possibly propose a program to run at the Kittery Art Association. 

Suggestions could include
:

Photography:  How to Make an Outstanding Online Photo Book; Tricks for Taking Top-Notch Photos with your iPhone, etc.

Writing: The Joys of Journaling; Penning Poignant Poetry, etc.

Art: Keeping it Simple with Watercolors, Mixed Media Collage, Stenciling, etc.

KAA membership cards include a 20% discount at two local framing shops, D. Pratt Framer, LLC in Kittery, and C.C. Moore Fine Art Framing in Portsmouth.  What a deal!

When you receive a mailing from KAA, check the mailing address.  Your membership is current through the indicated calendar year.  So, if the address includes "#2017" then you are current through December 2017.

The Kittery Art Association, a charitable organization incorporated by the state of Maine, sponsors a variety of public events in support of local artists and writers of all ages.  

Membership is $35 and expires each January.
