Barbara was educated at Haverford College and Bryn Mawr College, and the Main Line Center for the Arts, in Haverford, PA. She studied with Violette De Mazia at the Barn's Foundation in Merion, PA. Her primary influences have been Biagio Pinto, Fritz Janska, and Bruce Gagnier.

Short Films of Graham Alvord
Along with our usual student-hosted musical performance, KAA member Tom Hibschman will show his work in progress, a documentary film about Kittery resident, Graham Alvord, who observed and partied through his 100th birthday in September, Graham was a lay minister and teacher, and is a WWII Navy veteran who participated in the Normandy Invasion.

Poet Desiree Alvarez will be featured in the
Mangion Memorial Poetry Celebration at the Kittery Art Association on Saturday, May 6th.
The event will be hosted by former Portsmouth Poet Laureate Kimberly Cloutier Green, who will serve as the emcee for the afternoon interview and evening reading. Read more here
The suggested donation is $25.00 for both events or $15.00 for individual events. All proceeds benefit the work of the Kittery Art Association. Doors open a half hour before each event. Seating is limited.

Photography: How to Make an Outstanding Online Photo Book; Tricks for Taking Top-Notch Photos with your iPhone, etc.
Writing: The Joys of Journaling; Penning Poignant Poetry, etc.
Art: Keeping it Simple with Watercolors, Mixed Media Collage, Stenciling, etc.

Beach Pea Baking Co. Exhibit
Artwork submitted by members of the KAA is on exhibit at the Beach Pea Baking Co. now thru May 1.
The artists whose work will not be exhibited this time around will be in the next round, since we had so many wonderful pieces (some of which were quite large) for the walls at the Beach Pea. Thank you to all who participated thus far!

When you receive a mailing from KAA, check the mailing address. Your membership is current through the indicated calendar year. So, if the address includes "#2017" then you are current through December 2017.
The Kittery Art Association, a charitable organization incorporated by the state of Maine, sponsors a variety of public events in support of local artists and writers of all ages.
Membership is $35 and expires each January.
Membership applications for 2017 are available on our website, or feel free to pick one up at the KAA Gallery located at 8 Coleman Ave., Kittery Point, ME.
