The Johnson Jaguars contented their dominance over the field of 26-5A team last week winning games on consecutive days.  Monday's game vs Roosevelt was moved to Tuesday as both team warmed up in the rain.  Johnson run ruled Roosevelt 14-2 in 5 innings of play behind Freshman Caitlin "KK" Colquhoun.  The young Johnson right hand starter struck out 10 over five innings.  Colquhoun continued her torrid strike out rate on Wednesday vs Reagan.  "KK" struck out 15 Rattlers in the full seven inning game and had a no-hitter perfect game broken up in the final frame as the Jags won 8-0.  Of the 36 outs Johnson recorded over the two games last week Caitlin "KK" Colquhoun had 25 by strike out. Johnson will close out their first half of district play this week as they face Lee and Madison.  Johnson will take on Lee on Tuesday and then will get tested vs Madison on Friday.  Currently four teams are virtually tied for first in 26-5A all with one loss with Johnson and Madison joined by Mac and Churchill.  The district race should be clearer after this week..Softball

Johnson sophomore Courtney Trimble scored a goal against Roosevelt and a goal against Reagan last week

Last Week Scores:
3/11 - Varsity (11-4-0 / 7-2-0) vs Roosevelt (W) 4-2
(Stallings, Soulas, Trimble, OG)
3/14- Varsity (11-5-0 / 7-3-0) vs Reagan (L) 2-4

(Stallings, Trimble)

This Week Schedule:

Fri 3/21 5:00pm - Varsity vs Madison (2-12-3 / 0-9-0) at BAC-West

The Johnson Jaguars split their matches last week with a win and loss.  With just two matches to play before the end of the regular season the Jags have a tight hold on second place in 26-5A.  The Jags can wrap up the two seed with a win in one of their final two matches this week.  This past week the Jags fell into a 0-2 hole vs Roosevelt on Tuesday before rebounding with four goals in the second half to earn the season sweep of the Riders.  Johnson battled top seed Reagan but two late goals in the second half gave the Jags just their fifth loss of the season.  If Johnson can wrap up the #2 seed this week they can start to concentrate on their first playoff match vs 25-5A #3 seed.  Currently NB Canyon is the #3 out of 25-5A but none of the 4  seeds from 25-5A have been set.  The first round of the playoffs will be played on Friday or Saturday March 28-29. Girls Soccer

Baseball (13-3 / 0-1)
Johnson Sophomore Hunter Trinidad rounds third on his way to scoring a run vs MacArthur

Last Week Scores:
3/11 - Varsity (13-2 / 0-1) vs MacArthur (L) 7-6 (9-inning)
3/14 - Varsity (13-3 / 0-1) vs New Braunfels (L) 1-2

This Week Schedule:
Tue 3/18 4:30pm - Varsity vs Churchill (9-5 / 1-1 ) at BAC
Sat 3/22 12:00pm - Varsity vs Roosevelt (3-11-1 / 0-2) at BAC

The Johnson Jaguars are probably glad to see spring break end after a rough week on the diamond.  The Jags limped into district play and lost their district opener to MacArthur in extra innings.  Friday the Jags traveled up to New Braunfels and lost their third straight 2-1 to the Unicorns.  Johnson will try and get back on track with a Tuesday early game and a Saturday noon contest.  Johnson will face Churchill on Tuesday at 4:30pm.  The last time the Jaguars and Chargers met was when the Jaguars swept the Chargers in the playoffs last season.  Johnson will play a rare Saturday afternoon contest on the 22nd vs Roosevelt.  Johnson defeated Roosevelt 4-3 in the East Central Tournament. Baseball
Jag-A-Thon - May 17th
Due to some conflicts with other events the 2014 5th annual Jag-A-Thon has been moved to May 17th at 8am.  Currently the Jag-A-Thon organizing group is looking for sponsorship.   Last year the Jag-A-Thon raised $17,000 with over 548 runner participating.  This year to goal is to have over 700 runners and walkers participate on the TPC Blvd course that starts and ends at Johnson High School.  For more information on Sponsorship and Registration please visit the Jaguar Pride Website

Boys Soccer (8-6-5 / 2-4-4)
Johnson junior Nacer Ibaroudene scored the Jags only goal last week

Last Week Scores:
3/11 - Varsity (8-5-5 / 2-3-4) vs Roosevelt (L) 1-2

Fri 3/21 7:00pm - Varsity vs Madison (3-10-3 / 1-7-1) at BAC-West

The Johnson Varsity Boys soccer team  has hit the home stretch of the district 26-5A schedule and controls its own destiny.  The Jags need to win out to secure a playoff spot.  Johnson has maybe the biggest match of the year on Tuesday as they face Lee at Comalnader.  Johnson is battling the Vols and both squads are trying to hold off Roosevelt for the final playoff spot.  Johnson could only muster one goal last week as Nacer Ibaroudene took a beautiful pass from Diego Radulovich vs Roosevelt and put the ball in the side of the net on Tuesday.   Boys Soccer
