January 23, 2014--Tacoma, Washington-On the biggest night in Gospel music, producer, songwriter and engineer Derek "DC" Clark snagged "Producer of the Year" along with Fred Hammond, at the 29th Stellar Gospel Award for the project "United Tenors" featuring Fred Hammond, Dave Hollister, Eric Roberson and Brian Courtney Wilson, and will receive the key to the city of his hometown Tacoma, Washington for his tireless musical humanitarian efforts.

 

"The admiration I have for my peers, places me at the least of them, therefore, winning Producer of the Year comes as a surprise," exclaims Clark. "I am immensely humbled and thankful for this award and words cannot express how much this moment means to me."

 

No stranger to working with some of the best in the business, Clark has successfully produced, written for, collaborated or engineered/edited for the likes of Fred Hammond, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Omarion, Israel Houghton, Yolanda Adams, Ruben Studdard, T.D. Jakes' Sacred Love Songs 2, James Fortune & FIYA, Dawkins & Dawkins, Men of Standard, Zie'l, Marques Houston, The Singletons, GI, and more. 

 

Not only is Clark amazing in the music industry, his benevolent efforts towards the youth was recognized by Bill Gates who awarded him substantial funding to create and facilitate a studio recording class where they recorded relevant songs of inspiration.  For this, and much more, Mayor Strickland recently announced her plans to present him with the key to the city of Tacoma, Washington in a few weeks.

 

A passionate lover of God, and a champion in his hometown, Clark uses the platform that his music success has brought him to encourage, enlighten, and enhance the lives of those aspiring to find and live out their own purpose.

The Stellar Awards is a two-hour special aired live in prime-time on UP Television Network from Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and will run in syndication through March 2, 2015.
